Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Why did Mass Effect 3 come out on WiiU when ME4 will never come out on the platform?

Because EA was originally going to support WiiU heavily. Then they got pissed at Nintendo and rebelled by pulling all future games.

Its EA with their spite. The mass effect 3 port was too late to cancel and was outsourced so it would mean breaking a contract. EA doesnt want to bring their games to the Wii U because Nintendo didnt buy their crap online service Origin for the Wii U. So they do whatever they can everytime they have a release and make sure to say that its definitly not coming to the Wii U.

Very unprofessional if you ask me. Maybe this will stop when the new management gets a grip on things.

Once again? Didn't we know all of this already? This is so annoying. This is rubbing it all on our faces. Just look at your recent threads.

I'll be direct and clear. You are an immature fanboy, you are acting like a kid, and you are a pretty pathetic troll. People like you ruin the site and make all the Sony fans look bad.

I don't care, someone had to say it.

If you aren't a "crazy tin foil hat conspiracy theorist", it is illogical. Otherwise, it's pretty easy to see the reasons.

Don't worry, it will likely release for WiiU's sucessor in 2017. For $90.

But wait, there's more! Battlefield 4 is published by EA, and EA owns BioWare. And BioWare's big upcoming RPGs, as studio general manager Aaryn Flynn confirmed last night, will run on the Frostbite 3 engine. Which, again, doesn't support Wii U.

Why would they release ME3 on WiiU when ME4 will never come out on WiiU because Frostbite 3 will not be on the platform? Its illogical.

Wait a minute...  Who said that Frostbite 3 will never be supported on Wiiu?    My understanding that this is the Battlefield 4 engine which is a game that is comeing to Xbox 360 and PS3?  My understanding is that the work of moving that engine over to wiiu hadn't occured yet but I never heard that the wiiu couldn't technically support the engine. What did I miss?

Nothing, DICE didn't want to port the Frostbite 3 engine to Wii U for BF4, but it was because they didn't want to bring that game to the system.  If they want to put ME4 on Wii U then a engine build could easily happen, however with the EA & Nintendo falling out they probably won't want to put ME4 on Wii U, regardless of engine used.

I think at the end of the day it comes down to whether the system takes off. If Nintendo gets this system to take off and there is a decent demand for cross platform games on the system it will end up happening. It has very little to do with anything else except for business.
