Wii U boost due to games and/or UK price cut?

the games are the biggest factor. because the UK price cuts wouldnt effect the sales in the USA now would they?

True dat. Very interesting case of seeing what sells consoles in action.

And good opening for Lego and MH! Looks like games were the problem after all. Imagine when big games come!

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

Price cut for Vita in Europe is needed!!!!

Wii U sales went from abysmal to mediocre in a single week, thanks to 2 pretty ok games.. That's encouraging to see. And some people actually thought getting games wouldn't make a difference? Lol, wasn't long before that was proven false. You'd think people would be wiser about such things by now, with 40 years of gaming history to draw upon.

Where is NFS:U? It would be shameful to see Criterion not be rewarded for their apparently great work on the port.

Moar reason for 3rd parties to skip. DOOMEDDDDD.

sadly this is somewhat true. it landed on the 67th place, i mean damn but thats just bad!

were people expecting this to do better? Its not like the game wasnt released on 4 different platforms months ago. 3 of those platforms being much more popular than Wii U. Its common sense.

And what were people expecting for MH? It is a niche series in the US that few people care about here. Doesnt matter if its exclusive or not, and doenst matter how popular some people wish it to be.

its still kind of low to be honest. i wasnt expecting this to sell 100K or something. but it pretty much opened with around 5K, for comparison mortal combat vita, a game that been out for over a year at the time, opened with 17K in the usa. i was hoping it would sell higher because its a great game, and because the developers deserve it for the great work they dont on the game

Mortal Kombat for Vita actually ADDED features, where i dont think NFS for Wii U did and MK Vita retailed for less, while NFS for Wii U is the price of a brand new game and not a port. Not to mention MK Vita has the added bonus of being portable, which would help its sales, something that NFS Wii U does not benefit from. Those  factors right there in mind and the Wii U version of NFS sold about as much as I thought it would. Good port or not its still just that a late port with not that much added features if any at all. Pretty sure the devs got their cut just on the PS3 version alone, so any thing made here is just candy money.

Software publishers need to realize that WiiU owners (or any owners) aren't in a bubble. They may own other systems too, and aren't interested in late ports.
