Forums - Microsoft Discussion - "April's next Xbox announcement "pushed back a month"

The Redmond giant is clearly not rushing, so much for going to rush "because they're worried.".

April or May, matters little now, as long as it's in stores in November.

Well, if they don't announce it in april, I'm not interested. Never ever gonna buy a ms product if they don't show it in two weeks. Bye bye MS.

Lol, good one!

You might want add Rumor to the thread title.

I wonder if this has any credence to the rumors that MS is having a hell of a time getting good yields out of their APU design.

Are they having those issues right now? I thought those cleared up end of last year. Maybe this is where Sony is putting the money they saved by going x86 and having AMD do Microsoft Beastie Boys's sytle. SABOTAGE! lol

No, but really I'm starting to doubt what MS is actually going to have hardware wise and I'm pissed we might have to wait longer for a reveal. The damage from PS4's reveal hasn't even fully settled yet. GDC just ended. Another month delay, another month of steady next gen reveals that won't say Xbox3 on them. Who knows if this will matter in hind sight, but right now MS is missing out on everything while Sony is dancing in the streets. I hope they don't think that Fall and the holidays are the only times people pay attention to gaming.

Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(

Microsoft needs the time to outshine Sony. I am sure Sony is still holding back more stuff until E3. Microsoft is giving Sony more time to market their unseen product. Not good, but good for Sony still.

They've added power to the box

I guarantee it

Well I don't know if it would be that good. Changing specs in the last second may frustrate 3rd parties and another RROD debacle is in the air.

1.  Adding power wouldnt piss off developers, in fact they would love it.  They can add power without changing the fundamental architecture

2.  It wouldnt be "last minute" as any hardware couldve been in development for months and theres still nearly a year before console release

MS has billions of dollars in cash.  If they want to add power they can

Outside of things like RAM amount I doubt they can make any 'significant' changes without causing a delay. I can see a RAM amount increase. Not the type just the amount.

Well if MS is aiming for a October/November 2013 release then games for launch should be well into development right now, so still no final specs may piss those developers who will have to re-work their games to fit new specs but others will most probably be happy about more power I definately agree here. Altough I don't think that adding power can be done without architecture changes, save for some higher clock rates and adding RAM, expecially since there is only like half a year until production time (aiming for holiday 2013 ofc) but you'll have to find someone more educated than me to debate this deeper Cheers!

So it is happening...PS4 preorder.

Greatness Awaits!

16GB GDDR5 ram confirmed.

Ha ha ha!  Or 16GB DDR4 RAM! and a 40 GB Solid State Hard Drive too!

I wonder if there is a change they will push it back to 2014.  New chips coming out later this year, are a nice big step up- better than we have seen in a few upgrades in both power and efficiency.

They could drop the 360's price and mess up the other consoles.  I still think they will probably launch this year.

Still nothing at Game Developers Conference (GDC) so perhaps they are running behind?

Or they are nostalgic – May 2005 360 debut, want it in May again.

Or they just like teasing us!

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.
