Forums - Gaming Discussion - Microsoft keeping developers quite about future PS4 titles? (metal Gear/Battlefield)

Oh me, me, me!
I have better conspiracy theory!!!
Battlefield 4 and MSGV are both X720 (next-gen) exclusives and it is Sony that pays devs to keep quiet about that as long as possible - preferably up to E3 X720 reveal ;)

So seriously don' go "full retard" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X6WHBO_Qc-Q
No prizes there...

It is probably just a simple MS asking them to not discuss next gen as PS4 because it makes the games sounds exclusive and that they should wait until after their reveal. I'm sure some publishers are reasonably enough to do that for them while others might not be.

Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(

LMFAO.

they aren't announcing ps4 releases because all the games are exclusive to the nextbox. why do you think sony is spending so much time touting indies?.. because those are the only games ps4 is getting.

Uh.. no? What would MS stand to gain from this? Any supposed momentum gained by PS4 getting some multiplatform titles could be erased with a phenomenal Nextbox showing.

But what would that 'phenomenal' showing consist of? Advanced controller free gaming? (Sony's got that covered). Incredible online infrastructure? (Sony's got that covered). Cloud gaming? (Sony's got that covered). Exclusive titles? (Sony's got that covered). In fact Sony have so many avenues covered that it is almost impossible for MS to announce anything of significance. It is now rumoured that the reveal has been delayed for a month, so perhaps MS are changing a few specs, but that's not going to make that much difference. The PS4 is rumoured to be slightly for powerful, but as thousands of MS fans have constantly pointed out, the differences are negligible ... So I'm assuming if MS DO make their console a little more powerful, they'll continue to have that view ...

Currently Sony have: Kinect (covered), Wii (covered), Wiiu (covered), 720 (covered), Cloud gaming (covered). I think the OP makes a very good point and it's certainly worth considering. If MS don't do something soon then they're dead outside of America and the UK (and even in these territories they are not going to get the advantages they had last gen: Earlier, cheaper, better online, possitive press as apposed to PS3 negative press.

The PS5 Exists.

maybe but i dont think it is some kind of evil thing that M$ would be doing to slow PS4. It would be more like M$ is making sure that some of those multiplat games will be shown on its console.

I feel like all the new Maddens and other sports games will be debuted with the Xbox reveal. I also think that Star Wars 1313, Next COD and maybe The Witcher 3 will be shown at the Xbox reveal aswell.. maybe

I mean SOMETHING is going to be saved for the M$ reveal.

I dont see a problem with it

M$ is going to need something because i'm positive that Sony hasn't revealed their secret formula yet ;)

Many developers will simply wait until e3 before they anounce there next gen games. I think there is no doubt that Battlefield 4 came to PS4 and X Box next too.

Dont worry about Microsoft.

If they didnt said nothing about the new Xbox is because they are confident, they will came out swinging and blow e3 out of water, hype will be monumental and Console will break every record on the U.S, even above Wii in 2006.

There's definitely something like that going on. Battlefield 4 is obviously a Ps4 title yet they haven't officially confirmed it, and the title isn't even available for pre-order yet.

Or maybe DICE isn't confident they'll get these next-gen versions up and running in time for release so they're holding back any announcements? Who knows.
