Please don't lump me in with the 'haters'. It's quite frustrating. I'm not lumping the 3DS in because that's suffering a similar issue over the next few months, but at least it's shown it's stable. Neither scenario is great, though. And those Vita games? None will push systems. Maybe a small boost for a week but that's it. Hopefully FFX will steer the ship right, though.

I apologize if I sounded too agressive. I just want to point out one thing : God Eater is a 500K+ seller in Japan so I do think it has a good chance to lift Vita a lot (more than FFX HD). And for the other games I reckon that quantity matters as well, libraries sell systems.

That's ok, I must have mistaken the impact of God Eater. Looking at sales of past titles its done 250k FW and 600k LT, so 200/500 seems plausible for this title.

Does it have a release date? And indeed libraries do sell systems, but that's a long term effect.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

Great sales for Luigi, curiously small hardware boost for 3DS. Guess everyone who wanted LM already owned one.

That's what I'm talking about Luigi!

Actually disappointing for OP, very much so. And Vita flat, but it's all downhill from here.

Vita is not flat, it's actually up ~5K. Why is it downhill from here? it went up with no major release, next week onwards it could settle down on ~30K without any. The only thing going downhill is the Wii U, that thing can't beat the PSP.

huh?

The vita it's coming from a big pricecut + several big releases while it has almost nothing new for months. It's obviously downhill from here. Takin in consideration the facts and the numbers already are disappointing and odds are that it will get worse.

Anyways, about what I expected for Luigi ... it should break a million eventually. I think for handhelds digital purchases is much more common compared to consoles (this is true for both Vita and 3DS imo). I plan to get Luigi's mansion digitally too.

But you people have been saying that since week 1 of the price cut and you get proven wrong week after week.

Sure? Paste the quote please. I only have said that:

1) The increase was disappointing as less than expected.

2) It will get worst and worst as it doesn't have anything to battle the 3DS.

Please show how I got proven wrong if my predictions are on a longer term basis than 2 weeks. I don't care about a meaningless 20k momentary spike that lasts 2-3 weeks. I only view the big picture son.

I'm not talking about you specifically but people like you, the ones downplaying Vita's success lately.

Week 1: Disappointed sales, expect much more. Next week it'll drop like a rock.
Week 2: (Sales increased this week) Nice hold but its all downhill from here. Nothing big left.
Week 3: Sales finally dipped noticably. TOLD YOU SO! It'll keep dropping until it goes back to selling 10k per week.
Week 4: Sales actaully increased a little bit. Oh, its a holiday, it'll go back to going downhill next week as there's no new releases.

Not saying I disagree with these sort of comments, but the constant downplaying is very annoying and at the very least, take the time to praise these sales and admit they are defying expectations.

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow....What a horrible flop in all regions.

We don't often see eye-to-eye, do we? But the Vita is doing very well since its price drop. I'm thorougly impressed. It seems healthy now. I think it can stay above 30k weekly for a while.

3ds didn't do that great, it's at top, but I expected a larger increase with Luigi, Vita did good I expected it would go up, Wii U jumped for some reason...I guess small price cut.

I overestimated the 3ds increase by a lot, Vita estimate was ok, and underestimated Wii U, sorry wii u.

Wii U will jump up next week to around 40k-50k at most (leaning toward 40k). Dragon Quest (not a major series DQ game and easily available for wii) and Game & Wario are popular, but not huge system sellers. It will be a nice boost, but it has no long term effects since that is it for literally about a month in Japan. It will be back at 10k within 2 weeks...nothing coming until 4 weeks later Pokemon Scramble U? lol.

3DS: Big drop next week since nothing is coming out in Japan in next 3 weeks, I expect to see lowest 3ds numbers in a while. 55k next week.

Vita: Once again a shortage on all colors except black...wtf sony...despite shortages I think the Vita was going to see a drop nevertheless. Oboro Muramasa and Madou Monogatari are niche titles, but are actually gaining some love...so I expect a drop to around 30k. I guess we'll see what PS Vita's new low is after the price drop since there is nothing for 3 weeks after next, will it go back to 10k or stabilize somewhere higher? I think 20k

I think a certain person is missing from this thread, a certain someone who was every week in these threads posting comments like "vita awful", "vita near dead", "how low can vita go"

wasn't it more than 1 person? Anyway i said 42k for vita this week :P.... i knew one piece would boost sales, love one piece

Wow.. that was surprising.. for me. I though that Luigi wouldn´t get the top spot, I was thinking that OP would be teh best seller that week.

Good numbers for Vita, keeping a steady number of sales for these past three weeks. I doubt that it will surpass teh 3DS anytime soon, but I think those are good numbers.
