We have some interesting new details to bring you now on the highly anticipated Final Fantasy X HD remaster from Square-Enix. The game is due out on both PS3 and the PS Vita, but we are hearing some exciting information on how the PS Vita version could look the better out of the two, due to the crisp 5-inch OLED screen.
The game has been featured in the latest issue of Japanese magazine Famitsu and the fresh information should be very pleasing indeed for PS Vita owners at least. We have heard that all of the cutscenes featured in the game have been recreated in HD and the sound quality in FFX has also been enhanced as well.
The character models such as Tidus, Yuna and Wakka have all been given a texture update as well, so Square-Enix were not lying when they said this will more like a proper remake, rather than a bog standard HD remaster. They could have kept the PS2 cutscenes untouched if they wanted to save time, but it’s nice to see that they’ve gone the extra mile to convert them into HD as well.
The most interesting piece of information to come from Famitsu, is the fact that the PS Vita version of the game will apparently look better than the PS3 version. This is due to the fact that the enhanced graphics will be seen in clearer detail on the gorgeous 5-inch OLED, compared to playing the same game on a TV.
The downside of this, is that Final Fantasy X-2 HD will ship as a separate game unlike PS3, as Square-Enix has now revealed that they can’t fit both games on a single PS Vita game card – so there’s the reason. The game is 70 percent complete at the moment, so let’s hope they can finish up by the end of the year and finally release the game.
