Not combat wise considering the game is alot more focus on fighting. The combat i sway to simple and way to button mashoing.  To me it feels very casual due to whole disney premise adn the simplicity in it combat. In sayig tha tere are hard bosses in the game like Sephiroth lol. Yea but an actual new games hasn't come ou t yet. Instead we have gooten remakes and hd remakes of the old games. hat wouldn't suprise as they hhinted it in kingdom hearts 2. I hope if they ever release part 3 that they do chnage the combat system in a significant way and add more depth and variety to it.

Have you tried Lvl 1 playthroughs on Proud or Critical mode?

Putting such harsh limitations on yourself doesn't make a game hard. It's like me claiming FFX is so hard because you can do a "No Sphere Grid" playthrough.

That's not the same thing because Lvl 1 and harder modes are sanctioned by the game, ie. not player-made limitations like NSG that aren't balanced because the game doesn't work that way. If he thinks the game is "casual" he has the option to increase the difficulty.

That's not how it works though. You have a normal or standard difficulty for a reason. The game is designed to be played using that difficulty. Harder difficulties are included to give reason for second or third playthroughs.

Very much expected. I hope someone can bring SE around this generation.

Tomb Raider didnt do well for them? Jesus, what did they expect?

Also - Someone has to say it. Dragon Quest X shouldnt have been a Wii exclusive.

Yes, it's almost like putting an MMO on the Wii was a bad idea. Who'd a thunk it?

Finally the idiot is gone

Sadly Nomura didn't take over.
We only can hope the new guy will let Team Nomura finally work as he wants cause if he is doing the same we will never see KH3 or anything else from them.
Nomura will probably rather waste time for the remaining time in his life before he goes Multiplat and downgrades his projects.

But good to see Wada is gone.
Still remember how Nomura showed those pictures where Wada is the evil that is the reason for the low quality and downfall of SquareEnix.
Please let the new guy be a smart one - Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts PS4 Exclusive.
They need to get back on their feet and that is the only way to go.As long as they are greedy for bribemoney they won't achieve what they could with their talent.

Oh sigh... Sony fans still clinging to the idea that the Xbox 360 port had any influence in how the game turned out (and not the years of development hell).
Just give it a rest already, no one sensible believes in that story.

Wada : It isn't possible to have towns and stuff cause to much work
Nomura with PS3 Exclusive Versus13 : We have towns, worldmap, better graphics than in 13,airship,different battle scenarios, more style, more in common with the normal Final Fantasy Franchise. We even use already some parts of our NextGen Engine.

Hm what was the difference?Oh yeah ;)
Nomura always said he wanted to be exclusive cause Versus13 IS NOT POSSIBLE like that as a Multiplat.
When did we stop hearing about Versus13?Oh yeah - The day Wada confirmed Microsoft asked him about how the chances are to get Versus13.
Stay in your dream world but Wada is the pure evil and is willing to lose quality AND sales(cause people are already pissed) for some direct cash in and a new villa.

Wow entitled much? LOL. There's nothing special about the PS4 architecture, it's a mid-tier PC in a box, if they can make a PS4 version, there should be 720 and PC versions too and I think their new management will see it that way too. It will add at least 1-2 million each to franchises like FF and KH.

The 720 and PS4 are much more alike than the PS3 and 360 were.

Nomura has gone downhill in general, I doubt Wade told him to take like 8 years to work on FFVersusXIII. No CEO does that. If anything they need a new CEO to crack the whip and not let bullcrap like that go on forever.

It's sold quite well considering it's an MMO, far faster than FFXI did on PS2.

They'll get their 4 million sales with Dragon Quest XI on 3DS anyway, everyone knows that.

That's just your opinion though. If games were 'designed' to be played on a standard difficulty first games wouldn't let you choose your difficulty at the beginning of the game.

With a KH game especially, there's absolutely no reason for you to start on the standard difficulty over at least Proud mode.

Most games only allow standard/normal or easy. The inclusion of the ability to change it to something more difficult doesn't take away from the very definition or a normal difficulty.

PS4 exclusive?

Let me use this as an excuse to start the blame game.

Lot's of hard feelings for the guy but what exactly is he to blame for ?

Final Fantasy XIII being ported to the Xbox 360. A move that rewarded Square with death threats and an ambiguous outcome:

  • The game was delayed for a whole year.
  • Extra dev costs for the 360 version
  • Games like MGS 4 indicating that the combination of exclusivity and a big name can bring in numbers.
  • Disappointing sales on the 360 (which even decreased with XIII-2)

People will argue that a lot have gone wrong with Square but my take is that this is one of the most important issues.

So, is  Yoichi Wada to blame for porting the game to the bro console ?

Dragon Quest X should have been Dragon Quest X instead of Dragon Quest Online. It's mindboggling that they attempted the MMO route with such a Japanese-centric IP. Had they put DQX as it is on the Wii, PS3, 360, Wii U and PC, it still wouldn't have been a success.

Final Fantasy XI worked, because FF is a strong brand on a worldwide basis. Exactly what you need for an online game, because online gaming is such a niche in Japan.

Yep, true. Dragon Quest X shouldnt have been an MMO. As it was though, the game simply shouldnt have been released as a Wii exclusive. Maybe 2-3 Years earlier, not in 2012. The platform simply wasnt strong enough at the time of release.
