To be honest, I'm still on the fence about Abyss.

Not sure if I should pay $25 for a 3DS port with ze smaller screen and all.
$$ like dat is better suited to saving towards Bravely Default.

Just beat Vesperia earlier today my previous recommendation stands, if you get it new amazon is pretty much the best place to get it. I'm sure its hard to find a new copy in stores now. Also its higher used at gamestop then it is new on amazon.

I heard somewhere the best Tales game is the Duck one. Make of that what you will.

You couldn't lvl up the original characters.
