There's just nothing about that makes it stand out. I just see another JRPG, I didn't buy for the same reason I don't buy every 5 hour FPS that comes out.

Lost Odyssey 2 would probably be out right now if the 1st was on PS3

I may remind you that PS3 was doing pretty crappy back in 2007. 1 million with baby steps would be already a stretch.

also, point is moot since Mistwalker never seemed eager to develop games on the PS3.

yea it was that high ass price point in 2007

It still would've sold better if released on PS3 though at the same time it came out on 360

and Sakaguchi avoided PlayStation because he doesn't like Ken Kutaragi

Its ok, but the gameplay reminded me soooooo much of FF10, the story was interesting, but overall it wasnt a game I'd really majorly endorse to someone when there are other much better (non mainstream/well adverstised) JRPG's out there. This would be waaaay down the list after Nier, the Ateliers and a great many others

Because Lost Odyssey is insignificant for 360 fans. Wide majority of us prefer western games to anime storybooks.

If lost odysseys sales are an indicator of that then most ps3 gamers don't care for jrpgs either as Lost odyssey is one of the best selling exclusive jrpgs released this gen on ps3 or 360. Another thing I dont get is some people say its weird to play a jrpg on the 360 i just dont get that  good game is a good game it's not like the 360 has a bad controller for jrgs or anything lol.

nah

Lost Odyssey would've sold better on the PS3 most likely in EVERY region

I would go as far as to say that Lost Odyssey could have broke 2.5 million WorldWide if it was a PS3 exclusive

Lol what name me an exclusive jrpgs on the ps3 besides the big name ones that sold better than lost odyssey on 360. Fact is Lost odyssey sold pretty good for a jrpg this gen regardless of platform being exclusively on the ps3 would not have helped it much more. as there are ps3 jrpgs almost as good that havent sold as well, but they are close. Though there are some that have sold more.

it took 5 years just for lost odyssey just to sell 800k units, xillia sold nearly that in japan alone

also, xillia 1 & 2 will pass lost odyssey once released in the west, ni no kuni should to.

Because it's on the 360, and most JRPG fans prefer Sony and Nintendo systems.

Incorrect. Most JRPG "fans" are fanboys. Real fans of the genre, follow the genre. When Lost Odyssey launched on 360, it had the most JRPGs available. I know because I actually looked at the 360 release schedule before it launched. I saw the amount of JRPGs on the docket and bought one. Most JRPG "fans" ran out and bought PS3s and then trolled any JRPG title released on 360. Lost Odyssey included. It really got annoying. You'd go into a thread to discuss the game and there were a bunch of JRPG "fans" complaining about the game not being on PS3. It was pathetic.

Lost Odyssey was and is exceptional. Of course, if you tried to discuss after it's release. You got bombarded by these supposed JRPG fans that hadn't played the game telling you otherwise. These alleged fans also praised the greatnes of FFXIII even though it wasn't out. That was rather ironic given the way things turned out with that game.

Okay, mini-rant over. Sorry guys. Continue on. Maybe we can see a sequel to Lost Odyssey someday. Sakaguchi still has his magic. Lord knows Final Fantasy could use him again.

Honestly you kind of proved my point. Unless you were just saying "incorrect" to the fan/fanboy distinction. However I'm not sure if that's entirely true. Because JRPGs haven't been very common with MS systems, but have with Nintendo and Sony ones, there's going to be a lot of people conditioned to them and only want to buy JRPGs on Nintendo and Sony systems. Sometimes it even extends to specific games -- for example, in Japan, people like playing Tales games on Sony systems more than Nintendo/MS ones. People are just more comfortable and expect certain games on certain platforms because that's what they're used to. Can you call them fanboys for that? I don't know.

A JRPG fan  would have bought a 360 because lets be honest here, for the bulk of the last generation that's where the console JRPGs were. This wasn't a PSP and DS situation in which you could look at either platform for a JRPG fix. The Wii and PS3 had slim pickings when it came to JRPGs. So if you didn't buy a 360 when it was practically the sole source for JRPGs. Don't claim to be a JRPG fan.

It's a good game, but I prefer Xenoblade so we all talk about that more.

A bit before my time sadly. Perhaps if it launched now things would be different...

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

Sorry for Lost Odyssey, but Microsoft tried to steal Star Ocean 4 and Tales of from us. I've been hating them from the bottom of my heart since this very moment. Pilferers don't deserve money.

Most JRPG Fans probably haven't played. 'Cause, you know, it's on the 360. (Not known for it's JRPG's or fans of JRPG's.)

The 360 isn't known for its JRPG fanbase yet Lost Odyssey achieved stronger sales than most JRPGs this gen. Final Fantasy aside, JRPGs haven't sold great on PS3 yet people think that platform has a very strong JRPG fanbase. Go figure!

People who like talk about JRPGs on the web just aren't 360 fans. If it were a PS3 game it would have received a lot more attention. Oh well! One of the best JRPGs I ever played. Perhaps MS should port it to the PC.
