This can't be true, there's no way Microsoft is this stupid

Windows 2000,Vista and Zune say hello.

yeahhh, fanboysm and trolls will be over.

I find this all hard to believe. I doubt Microsoft would drop the ball this badly. It almost seems like a fan loyalty test to see how far they can push them.

Sony will profit from MS having Bluray. There are several boardmembers and one of them is Sony. Also not all are equal. Sony appearently gets a large chunk of the income BDA makes. They get royalties for every licensed Bluray disk. The others get the royalties for every manufactured Bluray drive if my memory serves me right.

But its actually quite common that most big companies somehow pay for the products of the others be it a codec a standard a certain software or patent. MS gets money for Windows and probably a bunch of other stuff from Sony.

In the end its good for Sony that MS uses Blurays. But thats obviously no reason that stops MS from using it since Sony pays MS a lot more. They use also Windows/MS Software internally and also sell it with their Vaios. So why would MS have a problem with paying Sony if Sony has no problem paying MS .

Nah the problem is not MS paying to Sony, the problem is people think Sony will have big profit from MS,and what big profit means?they just think Sony(or let's say BDA) will raise the price to MS.

Sony is not the only company have BD patent(get royalties for licensed BD) btw, even it should be pretty big part.

This can't be real. MS isn't that stupid.

I don't get it. What exactly is stupid??

1) People with no internet connection wont be able to play.

2) No respect to user's privacy.

3) You're going to need a huge harddrive to be able to install games unless you keep deleting/installing back and forth, which kills the so called "instant-play"

4) Hints the inability of playing used games.

Even you don't wanna read the XDK,could you at least read the thread before reply?other than point 3(again it said you can play the game after the install started,no need to wait it finished),where are the XDK mentioned 1,2 and 4?

You mean people think Sony or BDA will raise the price of the fees just for Microsoft ?

Thats illegal, nobody would do that, the lawsuits would be immense. The EU commission alone would fine a hefty sum for that.

Of course they won't but some people love to think about that
