My thoughts exactly. Sure, MS fans will downplay these negatives, but once the word is out in the general public, many will stay away from the NeXbox. Especially if they block used games, then Gamestop will not be pushing the system. |
What negatives? Not even block used games mentioned in this rumor XDK
consoles are shooting themselves in the foot, like PS3 / 360 wasn't bad enough as it it already.
only nintendo so far seems to get it, I'm not sure about Sony but they have a chance if they play their cards right, but I doubt they will, Sony never does, Microsoft has no chance, haven't they even seen what happened to SimCity/Diablo/Every single DRM?

it mentions that it wont support playing on disk , so disks are only used for installation , that means its a lot like PCs , you have to enter a serial key, which means no used games.

I'm not gonna omit info. The article clearly states "always on always connected", so no its not gonna be deleted from the title, like you said it can mean anything, and the title is neutral, so don't go take offense and what you think really doesn't matters. |
Because you're copying neogaf?

Think. If games are required to be installed then that means there is a system in place that prevents people from buying a game, installing it, then selling it. I'm betting something like a serial number or online pass. So you would still be able to sell the games, but people will need to unlock them with some kind of one-time fee. |
Sure they can definitely use a system such as that to block used games or require some online pass. But there are other reasons for implementing a system like that, such as reducing load times. Until we get an official confirmation, I'm not convinced.

Won't support playing on disc=/=no used games or even need cd-key
They still can require you to have the disc in the machine
Don't tell me it won't read the disc,if it won't read the disc, how can you install the game?
It's more just like 360,but with require install this time

Games could be 25-50GB, and it's an easier way to distribute such big files to the public at large. Also download caps and the like can be a problem for some. Plus they keep retailer space.

it says in the last picture that "Always online, always connected" and that it will not be able to "Play on disk" as the content of the game will not be streamed on disk but it will be used only for installation, its not like the 360 at all.
