Great review. The game's setting couldn't have been possibly more epic for a prequel but plot-wise things could have gone a little further. Of course GOW 3 was indeed meant to be epic. What won me over was the game's overhaul received in the graphics department. The lighting and display textures of character models edged out GOW 3's, an impressive feat. The fluidity with 40+ frame rate at such levels of visual fidelity was technically impressive as well. Secondly the combat methods/style of dodging sequences with bosses, was an interesting addition.
I also experienced the aforementioned sound glitches and ran into a couple of other bugs which required a restart. The Trial of Archimedes is definitely an endurance test of skills and as a gamer I was obliged to finish it in the best possible way. GOW: Ascension was indeed the game I was looking forward to releasing since GOW 3. All the boss battles were equally epic. But to me the Poseidon and Zeus battles of GOW 3 simply remains second to none in the series.
A clear 9/10 for GOW: Ascension.
