If the publisher would be Sony, it would be called Overstrike, it would still look like fun.

There are great talent in Sony 2nd party, that Sony should purchase them as soon as they can. I mean Insomniac, Quantic Dream, Sanzaru, Ready at Dawn, Thatgamecompany, Giant Sparrow.... how come they're not 1st party yet?

So, for first week on "Fuse" we are setting the bar at 78K across two platforms? I actually would agree even such a low number might be difficult for it to cross.

If the pre-order charts here are correct and I am not blind, "Fuse" has yet to show up (with threshold being 20K) on either system. These game will be very interesting to follow, as will its fall out.

Another unfortunate parallel to draw:

Free Radical's previous series (Timesplitters) was filled with humour; cultural references; in-jokes and was basically just a hilarious game. I'd put it forward that Insomniac similarly put a lot of humour into the Ratchet & Clank series.

Haze completely eschewed using humour to instead focus on "serious themes"; and Fuse looks to be doing exactly the same. Especially disappointing after that Overstrike trailer.

I worry about the game. But I'll buy it regardless. Insomniac have earned my trust.

Also, Insomniac may not have disappointed (yet) but they also haven't worked with EA like this before. I wouldn't be surprised if there were some toes being stepped on and some directions being forced for Insomniac... Which makes no fucking sense to me because you know what you are getting with Insomniac and you know what they do best. I wouldn't be surprised if EA is forcing mediocrity out of Insomniac. I wouldn't be surprised if we hear something like this from an ex developer in a few years

Money. Sony has none.

Also, Ted Price doesn't want to sell Insomniac (he's the owner right?)

I doubt it will do even 50k first week. Hopefully Insomiac won't see alot of layoffs after this game :(.

I think Fuse will recieve another delay. Insomniac will be at PAX in 3 days and probably will announce a release date then. I can't see it being within the next two months unless they are stealth releasing and letting it go off to die. Once this happens I'm sure pre-orders will pick up. But not by any substantial amount.

If what is going on is what I think is going on (and that is EA getting a little too hands on) then Insomniac better have a damn good deal with EA such as full development and advertising cost. If not I can see this game possibly crippling Insomniac. Which might not be a bad thing in the long term.

I'm looking forward to the game. Everything I've seen looks good. My only concern is that it will focus too much on co-op to that point that if I play it single player I won't have fun. I played all the Gears of Wars games single player first and enjoyed them very much. If Fuse is just as much fun in SP as co-op than I'll get it.

He is the CEO, so must have a say.

From Sony's perspective, a developer, who is making games for them since the PS1, and made Spyro, Ratchet and Resistance, should be valued high. They and Naugthy Dog shares a similar history, they even has two teams now. I'd be glad to see them as 1st party, because if these guys get creative freedom, they always deliver. Insomniac made 8 exclusive (3 Resistance, 5 Ratchet) games for them in 7 years. I guess we can say they are a bit more productive than Team Ico, so I don't think money is the problem, maybe Ted Price doesn't want to be 1st party, as you said.

Lol, would be suprised if it was actually as bad as Haze, glad it stayed a exclusive to PS3, would have been abysmal waste of more retail space if multiplatform.
