Forums - Gaming Discussion - Anyone else kind of disappointed with those Tomb Raider sales?

I am surprised by the sales of tomb raider.

It has done very good sales so far. Just look at the first week numbers of many other games that have gone on to sell lots of units and you will think otherwise. The thing that has gone for tomb raider is everyone already knows what it is from the PS1 days. Plus it has killer commercials that got people interested. It also helps that it is a good game.

Nobody's perfect. I aint nobody!!!

Killzone 2. its not a fps. it a FIRST PERSON WAR SIMULATOR!!!! ..The true PLAYSTATION 3 launch date and market dominations is SEP 1st

Did anyone expect this to have sales like the PS1 games? I think they're pretty good considering how low the franchise has fallen in the last few years.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

No. It actually sold hell a lot in Europe, but journalists did a good work in promoting it : everything else went completely under the radar. The good thing is that SquareEnix will at last give us some Japanese games now. I'm tired of the Eidos things.

Really? IMHO Eidos is the only thing under SE that has been putting out at the very least consistent quality games, wish i could say the same for the Japanese devs, at least on consoles, cant remember a game they made that i would consider really good. Still waiting on Versus13, 14 was a bust. and so on.

I didn't say they were bad. I just wish they put as much effort as they do in their western line-up for Japanese games. I will always prefer a Star Ocean or a Valkyrie Profile to Deus Ex/Tomb Raider, but Square doesn't seem ready to revive those series like they did for the latter. The only thing to look forward to is Lightning Returns atm (there is Drakengard 3 now though), VersusXIII is still MIA but I do have hope it will be for PS4.

to each his own, but to be fair, Eidos was no slouch prior to being with SE, now they got SEs backing so they can do more. And its not like the japanese devs have anything to do with Eidos, Japanese devs...i dont know what the hell happened.  IMHO not looking forward to FF13 3, i hate Lighting and nothing else they are doing interest me.

not at all. I'm actually surprised it did that good. I haven't bought it yet,but I plan on it,sometime down the road.

From what I understood, they finally changed some gameplay in a good way. Instead of searching for that 1 lever somewhere for hours without any additional action, now it's more survival. I can't wait until I will receive this one next week!!!
