I'm just curious, what's the huge appeal of an iPhone? How different is it from something like a Blackberry?

Going by my purely researched ideas, it just sounds like an expensive iPod that happens to have all the other things a Blackberry has (which is also silly, though at least have experience with those) and comes with the bonus of a sweaty nasty touch screen.

It's pretty similar to a Blackberry with a touchscreen. I owned a BlackBerry before buying that piece of shit Motorola Q and really liked it.

I went with the iPhone because it has a killer deal on the data package and because I run Macs at home. Getting Windows Mobile phones or Blackberrys to cooperate with a Mac is a pain in the ass. None of the programs work very well.

Can you use an Iphone without having to deal with At&T yet? AT&T's cellphone service it the worst.

I remembered a great piece I read some time ago about the Iphone. You can find it @ http://www.thebestpageintheuniverse.net/c.cgi?u=iphone.

Funny how I am a tech person with a killer pc, use the PS3 and PSP for all it's multimedia functions and have a degree in IT and still do nothing more with my phone then call with it and hit hobos upside the head. I wonder where it went wrong...

IPhone is no more fad-dier than Wii.

**changes identity**

If the Wii could shit...

...all PS3's would have nicks from getting pelted with Iphones.

Take that how you will.

I still have a phone that's 5 years old. It's build like a tank though. I can throw it against walls and bounce it off the ground and it won't ever break. At least that's my theory anyway.

@ csir- I couldn't pay even the slightest attention to what the woman was saying in that first video. She was just so damn attractive. =D

That's pretty cool. I wish I could have got one. I had to go with the Ipod Touch.

That'd great, but can I suggest that you recycle the battery before destroying the phone. =D

Gratz. I thought about an iPhone, but after my horrible experience with a Windows Mobile phone, I wanted something that was the best at doing nothing but talking. I went with the Razor 2.

Really?  I've only had two Windows Mobile Phones and my experience has been amazing with both of them (barring a faulty hinge on my MPX220 but that had nothing to do with the OS itself).  It's possible you had problems with the phone hardware itself as the OS has been solid for me and very customizable.

I didn't mean to slant my response to mean it was MS's fault. The devices are usually large, I had a PDA sized phone. The biggest issues I had was it's size, and when I talked on it, my cheek would hit the screen, and hang the call up.

It did some odd things, like lock up from time to time, and not let me know when I have a voicemail, but that was not so much of an issue, I just hated the form factor, and the fact that I carried around a computer in my pocket so I could talk to people.

For my needs, I used a cell phone just as a cell phone, so I went with the one that I felt was the best at doing just that. Nothing wrong with the other devices if you utilize all the functionality they provide.

Ah I completely agree about the size form factor. Both my phones (Moto MPx220 and HTC StrTRK) have been flip phones without qwerty keyboards. I'm not a big fan of the size of other phones either but I like Opera Mobile so Windows Mobile crammed into a flip phone works out great for me.
