Title is a bit misleading. It makes it sound like Reggie took over the ass-kicking but that's just ain't true.

Lincoln was a bitch but I really don't want that kind of people back. Here's hoping for Satoru III to take over NoA.

WHo is Satoru 3? Iwata's Son? :D

Howard Lincoln was a good representative for not only NoA, but the entire gaming industry. This was back when console producers were granted a lot of rights, such as lockout chips being compay IP and subject to copyright. Had things like this not happened, I'm not sure the gaming industry would be as strong as it is today.

Also, Howard Lincoln got the job after the case of Universal vs Nintendo, where they tried to sue for Nintendo using Donkey Kong in it's games. The funny part was, Lincoln found an earlier case where Universal argued that King Kong was public domain, and after that, he had them by the balls...

Howard Lincoln + Minoru Arakawa >>>>>>>> Iwata and Reggie IMO.

Iwata and Reggie hit paydirt by cashing in on the casual blue ocean fads before the smartphones/tablets took over, but stripped of that their track records are mediocre.

Lincoln was the key to bringing Rareware to Nintendo which brought Donkey Kong Country, GoldenEye and other blockbusters. He also spearheaded the founding of Retro Studios and Nintendo's partnerships for Star Wars  games (Rogue Squadron) and other Western studios.

Don't know who he is or if he even exists and I don't care, I just want him to replace Reggie.

I think Lincon was too much of a bussiness man, Reggie is the normal guy, that represents the gamers much more...

Reggie represents nobody and has no power to get anything done.

Nintendo has turned in a old boys club for old Japanese designers in their 60s now spear headed by Iwata and Miyamoto on their board of directors. So everything is done to their fetishes and design tastes.

Yamauchi and Lincoln were not like that at all, they were business men first and foremost, I think it's actually to Nintendo's deteriment that they've lost focus on this and become a much more niche-style Japan focused company.

Howard Lincoln brought Nintendo Rareware, which brought us gamers GoldenEye, Donkey Kong Country 1-3, Perfect Dark, Conker's Bad Fur Day. He brought Nintendo Retro Studios which was supposed to provide many great games, but eventually got stripped down to just a Metroid studio, but that still gave us the Metroid Prime games and DKCR. He brought Nintendo the Star Wars games (Rogue Squadron and Factor 5). He inked the deal to get Silicon Knights. He spear headed Nintendo sports games like Ken Griffey Jr. baseball, Kobe Bryant NBA Courtside, Excitebike 64, etc.

Name one iniative that Reggie has done other than huff and puff on stage at E3? NOA is a big fat zero, too afraid to localize Xenoblade on time and didn't even bother with a perfectly good game in The Last Story either.

im fine with that so is not really a problem, plus do i have to remind you how catastrophic the N64 launch was under Lincon/Yamauchi management?

Yes Nintendo used to bully publishers, retailers, whoever they could. Is no wonder when a better rival than SEGA arrived (Sony) they all jumped ship.

I do like the smacktalk though, we need more of this today.

They all jumped ship because Nintendo opted to use cartridges only which IMO was a decision (and a bad one) that Miyamoto and others convinced Yamauchi of on the Japanese side and didn't have much to do with Howard Lincoln or Minoru Arakawa at NOA.

If NOA of the 90s had been in charge of the N64, IMO it would've had a CD drive on top of the cartridge slot and would've had Final Fantasy VII, Resident Evil, EA sports, etc. etc. on top of Mario 64, GoldenEye, Zelda: Oot, etc. and it and would've trounced the Playstation.
