Forums - Gaming Discussion - Ninokuni outsells DMC on PS360 in february

Home console JRPGs dont sell bad, sure its nothing spectacular but at least theyre making profits rather than going all THQ and selling millions of copies of Darksiders II and still making a loss
Also NiNoKuni has sold well, especially when it was released on DS a year earlier in Japan which would have taken alot of sales away from it

NinoKuni sold well.

DMC deserved more sales, it's a fun game according to the demo I played.

I am sure that Level-5 will be satisfied with the sales of Ni No Kuni. For a JRPG that is not from Square-Enix it sold well.

I doubt that Capcom is satisfied with the new DMC. They tried to make the game more accessible and to enlarge their fanbase. They succeeded in alienating their existing fanbase and failed to gain the attention of the COD-Crowd.

I wonder when companies will give up getting the attention of the CoD crowd. They are already busy playing CoD online...

Lost Odyssey released on an install base that was tiny compared to this game...

This argument is missleading. Early generation titles despite the small userbase tend to have an advantage since they have little competition and they are after all the  new generation of already enjoyed games.

Lost Odyssey was indeed a new game but it came with the legacy of Hironobu Sakaguchi, the famed creator of the Final Fantasy series.

So there are NO excuses there.

So both games sold terribly then.

That is just ignorant.

Ni no kuni did very well compared to the Japanese sales, which are usually very strong for these kind of games.

JPRG's sell badly.  Is that wrong?

Nonsense,  Not every game's production costs are the same. Ni no kuni sold well compared to its Japanese sales. DmC flopped compared to DMC 4.

They sell badly compared to what ? Xenoblade chronicles with 0.83m was considered a success.

Since when did this turn into a JRPG discussion?

http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/profile/92109/nintendopie/ Nintendopie  Was obviously right and I was obviously wrong. I will forever be a lesser being than them. (6/16/13)

Bit harsh bruv'

I'd say Ni No Kuni has grown some decent legs, DMC on the other hand... one could call terrible considering the fact it's sales are spread across multiple platforms.

Ni No Kuni has had a decent second month.  But its not going to get near where people here were saying it would in the "2m sales" thread.  Like I said at the time, 1m will be a good result.

Its done well, not amazing, but well.

People suggested TWO MILLION for NNK?! Really?? Sometimes I wonder what reality many of the visitors to this site live in.

If Ni No Kuni makes a million that would be an achievement. Great game and I hope it does well, but it is what it is.
