I've got a note 2, i couldn't be happier with it. Even convicted my friend to buy a note instead. But the specs on this phone really mean seem that good.

I must say, I am not hugely impressed. I have never thought that the SIII was a good looking phone and this one looks exactly the same. The specs don't really matter, it is a top end Android phone, they are basically all the same in that department.

What does matter is Touch Wiz (or whatever they are calling it now) which is their skin on top of Android. I am far from convinced that it actually any good and also am fairly convinced all these "features" are just gimmicks and won't really be hugely useful.

But I don't really think I am the target market for those sorts of things, I do have a high end smart phone, but I basically just use it for web browsing and text messages....

Anyway, if I were to replace my XPERIA S, I would get an XPERIA Z, it looks far more impressive and interesting, but I still have another year on my contract

Oh, as an aside, every time I read about American phone contracts, I have to laugh. I got my XPERIA S for free with a 24 month £22/month contract, that doesn't seem to be possible in America, as it includes some calls (don't use them) unlimited texts and 500mb of data

The S4 has a better processor. but seriously, the specs on both are WAY ahead of cutomers needs. It's more meaningful to compare the features.

The S4 has its smart gestures, smart eye tracking, full HD super AMOLED screen ( either you love or hate ) and bigger battry (2600 mAh)

Xperia Z, premium design,  Water and dust resistance, under water video camera , ClearAudio and Bravia engines , Full HD LCD screen, 2330 mAh battry.

You just can't go wrong :)

So do you think the Xperia is better?

Wasn't really the point, but for my personal use, yes. Xperia is better.

BTW Samsung phones also get better and much faster OS update support.

Oh look, it's the Galaxy S3s.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

It's a nice piece of tech to be sure but yeah, does seem like overkill. Like modern PCs that are so much more powerful than 90% of users actually ever need.

I'm coming due for an upgrade and since I'm not expecting any one else to do anything more novel, I'll likely pick this up (or Note 2)

They are pretty much doing the same thing as Apple...

What the hell does a phone need 8 cores, to open apps faster? yeah this is overkill....

No, because of this: http://www.arm.com/products/processors/technologies/biglittleprocessing.php

slight upgrade on S3. OK if you like Android I guess.

I do think a premium phone should have better build quality/feel than that though.

I am still with HTC and think their One looks better than anything I have seen last months (and years).

Just another upgrade, apple style. You will be able to get better phones for a lower price

Better in what? Specs? Don't think so... At least not now and next months.

Specs seem a bit overkill for a phone. I don't really like the look of it though, seems cheap. The Xperia Z and the Lumias are much nicer looking than that.
