How do you know that they just contracted the same tech from a different company?

Does Sony own the patent for this?

Making a lot of hasty assumptions here, make sure you don't look like a fool once this ends.

Did Nintendo own the patent for brawlers? No, but it still didn't stop people from being outraged

Did Sony use floating point before Samsung did?

Was it proven successful to begin with 1st?

but if he is right and sony and samsung contracted the tech from a different company, only "fans" of that company have the right to complain about sony and samsung and not sony fans about samsung and even then, both contracted the tech and pay for it and didn't just use it.

but since we have no clue, we should just wait if there will be some patent wars.

Whats the point? Looks fairly useless and gimmicky to me.

best touch advance....?

The way I can use my Nokia 920 with gloves on or even use with any item, pen, keys, banana!! Awesome at a football match when it is sub zero, will be great when skiing under the Matterhorn in a couple of weeks too.

I did not realize the Nokia 920 could do this.

Is it not a capacitive screen? I have heard of the extremely durable and scracth resistance of it, but not that you could use any object whatsover to control the touches.

This constant hijacking of threads to promote one's love of a company's products is so tiresome. I suppose it is what it is.

OT: Maybe Sony just beat them to it.

I don't really think Sony patents tech too often.

afaik Nokia was the first to announce such a feature with the Lumia 920 and Sony made the Xperia Sola capable of this with an update even before the Lumia 920 released
