Let me put it this way, releases push sales. 20% is a normal increase for Feb over Jan -- with software releases. Wii U doubled that with no software releases. That's not fishy to you?

its not fishy at all cause cause it's the norm, and i don't understand what you measn by doubled, it sold 57k in jan, it sold 65k, in feb, consoles always sell better in feb, with software or not.

The official statement is that it was up "over 40% weekly" from January. Since Jan had 5 weeks and Feb had 4.

So if the normal is 20% weekly with releases, and the Wii U is up 40% weekly with none, something isn't adding up right. That is NOT "the norm."

Remember NPD or someone said that they did not actually include the sales because they overtracked during a month so they took it away for Jan Sales. That would make Jan sales> Feb sales in reality.

Wow. 360 is undertracked by way too much. WTF is going on? I knew it was weird that platforms were down 50%+ YOY.

I'm pretty sure creamsugar's comments last month confirmed that the current gen comment was only PS3 and Wii. So, it's mostly likely PS3 290K-300K and Wii 135K-145K. Nice to see the PS3 on the tail of the 360's monthly sales. I bet when the PS3 drops to $199, we'll see it be above the 360 for a few weeks/months.

i'm not gonna keep explaining to you, it's the norm, go look at consoles sales, from jan to feb, there is always an increase, on every single console, doesn't matter if its 5 weeks cause people are broke from the holidays, it the norm, it folllowing the same trend, but what ever think what you want.

Is it wrong of me to ask WHY the Wii U was up over 40% weekly with NO new releases when the 360, which had several new releases in the top 10 software sales, was up less than 35% weekly? That is an anomaly.

Why are you so against the idea that returns hurt the Wii U's January sales data? It doesn't change any numbers.

Anyways my guesses: Nintendo 455k
So Wii U 65k ish
Wii 95k ish
DS 125k ish (still selling strong in US)
3DS 170k
PSV 36k
Wii and Wii U 160k so
PS3 275k
360 302k

So is the Wii U really ~65K?

If true, it´s still performing worse than the GameCube did in its first February NPD (Feb 2002 - 78K)

GC had a very impressive launch. Turns out in its first December it outsold pretty much every other console (PS3, 360, Wii, Wii U etc.) so that's not bad at all!

But 65k is upsetting, but much better than VGC suggested.

Gamecube did better than PS360 in it's first Dec? Awesome

His point though was Feb NPD..definitely not higher than them, and so 65k is definitely not 'not bad'.

Wii (first February, NPD) - 335K
Xbox 360 (first February, NPD) - 160K
Xbox (first February, NPD) - 139K
PS3 (first February, NPD) - 127K
GameCube (first February, NPD) - 78K

Can't believe Sly charted in the SW chart. Should've released it at holiday time when it was ready, really.

Didnt Sly on both the PS3 and Vita have a launch price drop?

Not a launch price drop, but they priced it lower than the usual game from the start. Might have affected the sales, true

"Though the release of a brand new trailer for Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time today is great, the biggest news regarding Sly’s new adventure is that you won’t have to pay full price when it launches on February 5th in North America.

Previously expected to be $59.99 and $39.99 on PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita, both versions will now be $39.99 and $29.99 respectively. In addition, Thieves in Time will still support Cross Buy, meaning that for your $40 purchase of the PS3 copy, you’ll also receive a downloadable PS Vita version free"

Wow FE sold 35% of all sales digitally on a handheld without an account system, that is insane.

Ongoing bet with think-man: He wins if MH4 releases in any shape or form on PSV in 2013, I win if it doesn't.
