I don't think "Hey, you should sue Sharp, not me." would have been the best move for Nintendo. Just tossing that in there.

Nintendo appeals verdict - http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2013-03-14/nintendo-ordered-to-pay-30-million-in-3-d-patent-suit.html

They ain't paying, for now atleast.

$30 Million? How much is that in Mario games?

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

I don't think Sony has anything to do with this...

Just because the guy worked at Sony for years doesn't make his patent Sony's patent.

Once you're Sony, you're Sony 4 life.

You make it sound like an STD

Wow it almost sounds like Sony employees are DYING to work for Nintendo. First Ken Kuturagi with the SPC700 and now this guy.

Too bad Sony missed the gravy train once again. The 3DS is selling faster than anything else out there.

Patents like these cause more harm than good. A glasses free 3d. Seriously, that was an obvious next step in technology. I'm patenting a 100 inch tv, 90 i the biggest I've seen so far.

TopDog is your alter ego isn't he?

OT: It was obvious that they did take his idea after reading the initial report. Then again I know nothing about this case it's just from his claim and how they responded that many presented 3D stuff along with him back then makes me feel like they did use his tech.

No. I'm not sure whose he is.

Is that patent from 2008? Sharp talking about glasses-free 3D way back in 2004: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/technology/3772563.stm

Let's see what other devices this guy can sue next. The same technology is also being used for the navigation system in the 2010-model Range Rover, which allows the driver to view GPS directions, while a passenger watches a movie (Sonyed in SimulView). It is also applied in mobiles such as LG's Optimus 3D and Thrill smartphones, HTC's EVO 3D as well as Sharp's Galapagos Android SmartPhone series.
