Er, you do know Smash Bros, Mario Kart, 3D Mario, Zelda, Monster Hunter, Yoshi, Dragon Quest, X and many more coming right? I mean sure if those games aren't your cup of tea I get it but, may I ask then why you even bothered buying one in the first place? I mean did you expect it to have Killzone 4 or something?

Sounds like you need to be a little less impulsive with your purchases..

Big mistake. The PS3 is a dead end system, after this year Sony will be focusing on the PS4. Once the PS4 releases, the trade-in value of a ps3 is going to drop like a rock. (Same thing for the 360 once the nextbox arrives.) The Wii U will still have decent trade-in value for a long time as it is Nintendo's current system.

If you would've waited you would have the option to get a PS4/Nextbox or if you still wanted a ps3 then you would get much more value for your money.

And you base your argument on what evidence? Did Sony set a precedent before? I’m sure they didn’t abandon the PS2 even after the PS3 was launched – unlike their competitors with their platforms. Your words are also contrary to Sony’s VP, Michael Denny.

PSB: Where does the PlayStation 4 announcement leave PlayStation 3?

JR: Typically history can help us only so far here. We’re actually still selling PS2s in regions such as the Middle East seven years after we introduced PS3. There are a number of reasons why the transition might be a bit more accelerated this time round, but PS3 is a very important part of our portfolio, certainly in 2013, 2014 and probably beyond that.

I’d point to the software line-up on PS3 that we have coming up – God of War: Ascension next month, The Last of Us, which is looking great, and Beyond later in the year. And there’s other stuff yet to be announced which is highly significant too. There’s a lot coming on PS3 and it’s going to be very important to us for some time yet.

That doesn't suggest the system is at a 'dead end', now does it? It seems to me Sony is going to employ a multipronged strategy, so all systems will get decent support for some time.

You should have rid it sooner, but you waited out Jan and Feb where there's no games released, lol.
Now, you sold it and the games started to come out.

Exactly what I was thinking, he held out through the drought just to sell it once the water came.  Very confusing decision and yes, you will regret it.

huge mistake. What console gets any good games within the first few months?!?! What are you going to do when the next Mario Galaxy, Donkey Kong Country or Metroid come out? Just ignore em?

Still kinda shocked actually. The other day I packed up my WiiU and brought it to Ebgames. With the 32gb console, Blop2, Zombie U and NSMBU I got over $200 trade in value ($200 for the console alone + like $80 for the games).

With that money I got a 500gb PS3 super slim, LBP Karting and 1 year PS Plus.

I just cannot see the future of WiiU looking good!

There are no games and there don't seem to be many coming up within the year that interests me!

The Wifi is garbage with no ethernet ports!

PS4/720 are coming around the corner with a baseball bats!

I just dont want to be stuck with a Dreamcast. So I figured I would cut my losses and trade it in while the value is high. And believe me this hurts. I have always loved my Nintendo systems.

Did I react wrong? Will I regret this?

Hilarious!  Nintendo already got your money!.. you might aswell have kept something of theirs.. and so if later down the track you buy another wiiU.. it be a double combo punch from Nintendo

.. and PS3 will be even cheaper later in the year... yeh your actions are not wrong at all! good job!

I dunno. I have an aversion -- even a phobia -- toward selling back any video game hardware or software I own. I think I would have held on to it. If you never plan on buying a Wii U again, it was probably the right call. But if you plan to buy one again when all the high-profile games arrive, I think you made the wrong call.

In any event, buying a PS3 was a great decision. I hope you enjoy it, man.

I'm the exact opposite ha.. Could be because I'm pretty poor right now, but I cannot sell all my old games fast enough. Thanks to amazon, I've probably made in the ballpark of $3,000 off old games and consoles, 99% of which would have been sitting around gathering dust and never played again anyway. Might as well use that money to buy NEW games that I actually play. I guess I get the collectors mentality,  but I have a pretty nice shot glass collection to fill that need heh.

But what if he wants to play some games now?

After all, that's what a console is for

Your mistake was purchasing the Wii U now. In hindsight you would have been better off holding out for a price cut and more games as they are on their way. Can't blame you for getting the PS3 though as it's still getting a steady stream of 1st party games along with overwhelming 3rd party support.

Exactly what I was going to say. Although I have the WiiU, but I was because I expected to get MH3U and plan to do it later the month. That will keep my WiiU busy. I also agree about the PS3.

Ya I should have probably mentioned that I traded in my other PS3 for the WiiU in the first place :/ ....I kept all the PS3 games though.

LOL. The magic feat of patience would have saved you a lot of money.
