Forums - Sony Discussion - what exactly is granting PS4 a better future than Vita ?

They actually always perform pretty good with home consoles, so if we take the history as example, it would be a indicator of a good performance. Even PS3, with a terrible launch, no games for years, massive price and so on already made almost 80M units sold and probably will pass 100M with ease. 3 consoles, 3 100M sellers, they are solid performers at this.

Now to more concrete reasons:
- They have a good price point. 100 US$ cheaper than One and delivering more performance than Wii U for just 50 bucks more.
- Good pre-sales figures
- 3rd part support
- Some big exclusives (Gran Turismo, Last Of Us, Uncharted, God of War. Not anounced yet, but they will come in some years)
- Developers are pretty happy with it

100 bucks more

Yes, my bad. Anyway, if Nintendo doesn't adress the 3rd part support (and even if they do, the power difference will still put them in direct competition with PS360), it won't be competitive enough.

You're really going to like these upcoming Europe numbers for the ps4.

Games and a reasonable price point.

The Vita will have a wonderful future, just like the PS4. Do you know why? Because Cross-Play.

... If the PS4's support will be as OK as it was when announced, then I can see it doing Average - Good. If this support drops off and Sony decides to go the PS3 route, then the PS4 won't be doing all too well.

Hmm, no. If Cross-Buy, or Cross-Play for the matter, was to have any noticeble impact on Vita sale it would already be noticiable.

I don't see why this will change in the future.

Third party support that is real.

That's all folks!

We're done here.

If that's not real third party support, I don't know what is :D :p

Being serious though, Sony have the home console market under much better control. I don't think they particularly did too much wrong in the first year of Vita for it to sell so badly. It's had a great lineup of games, the market just isn't there for it the same as it is with home consoles. Pity really.

RIP Dad 25/11/51 - 13/12/13. You will be missed but never forgotten.

By outselling the wii u and xbone combined each week.

The fan base it has got already the growing support from 3rd party.
