The problem with this logic is Sony and MS both do more than just make games. A game like Journey is not included on these lists for Sony because it isn't 1st party. A game like Gears isn't included for MS because it isn't 1st party. Yet both companies made sure their fanbase got awesome games by securing the rights to the games and ensuring they came to their respective console.

I'm not saying those games should be on these lists. But it's a more accurate representation of what goes on than the logic being used by some in this thread.

lol I believe sony wins that and is very well known.  And as ive saiod before i didnt even want to make this thread and i wasnt trying to compare the two.  I tried to be as fair as possible and even included Fable The Journey.  I mean i could have very easily inflated the numbers. Both lists has an obvious problem too.

MSFT isnt releasing core games consistently.

Sony is releasing to many mediocre games.

Both has problems.  With that said lets let this thread die now.  I dont want to argue with anybody else accusing me of things (not you)

My main gripe with your threads and this post is that a difference of 2 points Sony is releasing mediocre games. While MS just is not releasing games? Not only that you included Halo CE when you should incluce R&C collection instead of twisted metal. Your thread OP should basically be the same for both threads that  "What is going on?  2012's games has been mediocre and bad".

 

Edit: but of course you will probably ignore this comment like most thread OPs do when I point out something should be changed.

IPs often die because the market changes, competition, or the series just got bad. I don't think milking has ever killed an IP.

How many forzas, Halo's and Fables in the list?

Plus half the games in there are 2-3 years old. Sony's games are brand new. At least Sony is doing something new with our money, they are making new games even if they suck at least they are trying.

Ironically the best selling PS exclusives are established IPs....

And... all MS has been doing for the past 3 yrs is halo forza gears fable rehashes and crappy kinect games. You are proud of that??? All stars is better than any kinect garbage put out by MS. I am glad sony tries to make games that appeal to a variety of gamers. Platformers are a scarce because overhyped fps games are more popular. Atleast with sony they still make platformers with Knack starting the next gen.

I like Forza and Halo 4 especially. 3rd parties and XBLA does the rest. So yes I am happy with that. What I cant understand is fans praising a process of pumping out exclusive after exclusive that is not remarkable in any way (they dont score that high and arent bought by the very fans that brag about them).

I don't think many games on the OP's post was remarkable so...

Oh come on now Jay you and I both know how this thread was going to play out. Don't act so surprised now because I don't think you expected everyone to be having calm and reasonable arguments in this thread. Don't just say "let it die" because it should have never been born.

How many Fable games have you played on PS3 or Wii?

Halo CE Anniversary is a lot more than an HD re-release like the Ico collection. Yes it is the same game, but it has a completely new graphical engine on top that makes it look like a modern game. Most HD collections are nothing more than the same game upscaled in HD and your lucky to get new textures. Halo Anniversary actualy looks better than Halo Reach and Halo Reach looks great. Not as amazing as Halo 4, but what does really?

He's refering to the PC which I agree with. But this isn't really about exclusives, it's about 1st party and.. that game is one if I am not mistaking xD

Then Crackdown 2 wouldn't be there if this were the case. This should be about exclusives and exclusives only.

Um Crackdown isn't owned by Microsoft. That's like saying Nintendo own's Bayonetta or Microsoft owned Mass Effect and BioShock.

Ok then so if Crackdown is there then he should put Journey for PS3. Since Journey is NOT only a downloadable title since I can get it at retail and it IS a core game.
