The thing that stands out to me in the OP is the variety of games that Sony has published. Gotta love variety. As far as metacritic goes, I don't let metacritic dictate my opinion all I see is 7 quality games, haven't played R&C yet so don't know whether it's good or bad.

It wouldnt shock me if it got higher then God of War but yeah its likely. (Although imagine if it gets REALLY good scores xD)

You should've seen the GoWIII hype compared to Ascension. I was pretty much the most hyped guy and I aimed for 86 meta. Tells you a lot!

I'm expecting it to get lower reviews than GoWA. It's looks exactly like Gears 3 and not to forget that gears 3 launched a little over a year ago.

I don't see why the meta score matter much when most of those games are still good. I've sunk more time into MLB 12 than any other game this year and will eventually pick up 13. Also, LBP Karting is underrated IMO. I've had a great time playing the game and its only gotten better as the community levels keep growing.

Oh i remember the hype lol  I wasnt on this site at the time though.  I was pretty hyped for it as well and it turned out pretty good.  And yeah I thought you was a huge fan of GoW so i was a little surprised when you said that it would be lucky to get an 85 earlier.  You was right though

Im kind of a meta freak. Like.. Ever since 08 ive kinda' followed how shit goes down. When Halo 4 got 87, I was a little bit in a denial mode on the whole "Reviewers are getting harsh" but yeah it seems very valid now. We've had Rising, DMC, Crysis 3, Tomb Raider, Sim City, GoW Ascension and not a single game of these have gotten close to 90 meta. Tomb Raider couldn't even touch Drakes Fortune and I for one prefer TR over it (and I'm like the biggest UC fan evah).

 

I think this might have to do with the gen lasting so long that everyone is just "meh".
