1. wtf? He installed a game only to later be stripped indefinitely of beign able to play it. He's asking for a refund very soon afterward. 2. If I go buy a TV and take it home. Within 30days I can take it back for a refund without a damn valid reason. 3. Why is digital content different? There isn't even any restocking or lost packaging here. Simply remove the digital content from the account and refund. What were the pre-order incentives? Make him simply pay the value of those if they equated to a sale price or something. Point is, there is a way to refund and work around all this. Why should he and others be punished because they pre-ordered? |
1. Indefinitely? Yes, EA is a bunch of evil monsters who want their customers to parish. They totally aren't actively trying to resolve the situation, and just want to pile in the money and laugh at their customers ( http://www.joystiq.com/2013/03/07/ea-adding-more-simcity-servers-over-next-two-days/ )
2. You have a warranty / license agreement. If you brought your TV home, opened it, and installed custom software on it... you would void the warranty and would not be able to bring it back. Same scenario, he violated the terms.
3. Pre-order, $10 credit / off for 5 games. Again its an unfortante situation. But it was out of EA's hand, he should have read. He would have gotten a refund had there not been an activation.
