At this point I think we can all agree it's not about the Vita beating the 3DS but just about growing a bigger install base. And selling 62k this week is doing just that, of course it means nothing if it can't sustain interest.

Very good, Vita. Hopefully it lasts and keeps decent momentum. I am not expecting record breaking sales though.

Boo, Wii U. :( But it's new, and it feels like every new system right now has an uphill battle... I think things will get better in the long-term since Nintendo is committed to their new console. But for now, ouch. :(

-Even though not related to the PSVita....WiiU sales if it leads to the same thing as what happened with the 3DS, patience is a virtue then.

Argueably you'd expect Vita sales to go down less or go down more and the new baseline be lower.

When you consider there were apparently sellouts, you would expect the 2nd week numbers to not drop as low as new shipments come in.

This year: 221,660
Last year: 308,385

The odd is that this week last year we had OP... so PS3 sold 65k... if we have at least the same number for OP this year we will see at least 260k for PS3 YTD. PS3 have no major release last year than OP... this year we have more games to make the PS3 hold the same sales than last year:

MikeB predicts that the PS3 will sell about 140 million units by the end of 2016 and triple the amount of 360s in the long run.

Well you know One Piece is bigger than RE6 and Dragon's Dogma combined... moved more system than any other game in 2012.

PS3 sales at release of these games...

One Piece: 65k
RE6: 41k
Drabon's Dogma: 14k

That's an underwhelming performance, imo. Was expecting 70k minimum. I see Vita going back to sub,20k within a few weeks time.
The software front is more impressive. Senran Kagura did excellent, and Phantasy Star did surprisingly well for that's already a f2p game. Even Hot Shots Golf managed to sneak back onto the charts.
