That's the beauty of this game. Your joy is so, so shortlived before you realize just how much more daunting teh next phase is.

Edit: ARGH i didn't know you could also get Deep Dragongem from Goldbeard! I could've saved so much time just getting a group together and smashing him repeatedly!


G Rank quest are killing me right now. I actually have to go back to high rank quest and build numerous types of armor sets and weapons to fight the different monsters.

Armor wasn't too daunting: i put my nose to the grindstone and acquired Barroth X after a while, which is enough to tide me over until i get Agnaktor Z, the end-game armor. But yes, G-rank is the wake up call to make sure you have weapons in many elements all upgraded well.


So far the only sets i have are Azure Rath and Ratian. Working on Barioth and Zinogore. Might get Giginox too just to make sure im immune to poison.

The RNG gods hath smiled upon me! 2 Deep Dragongems and a Dark Dragongem, and my persistence in getting said items means i can also jump straight to the next lance (and i would, if it weren't 60,000z. Goddamn)

Got two notches up the Lightning Lance branch today. Most of the time was spent on one singular Lagiacrus Horn+, and all the grinding for that horn meant that i got the only missing part for the next lance 15 minutes later.

Blech, freedom from lance-upgrading is less fun than i thought it'd be. One successful Peco run, then i got my ass kicked in a group by dual Brachydios. Then strung along by a guy who claimed he had to "smoke."

Feh.

I trying to get a rathalos rubi to finish the azure rathalos armour, but it is looking impossible to get... 8 killed and 21 captured but still no success.... ARGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!

The best way to get an item is to not want it.  So act like that ruby doesn't matter and you'll get it in no time at all.
