Heck, I'd sacrifice Sony and Microsoft for nothing if I could.

Oh, so you would sacrifice Sony and Microsoft for Nintendo?

Nintendo is selling their IPs to Microsoft and this is true because:

Bye bye Nintendo.

I don't think having 3 Japanese HW makers and no one else (Apple don't count here) is good for over all business.

And Sega is more like Nintendo than Sony or MS, Sony and MS are multi-headed beasts where as Sega and Nintendo are 100% games. So we wouldn't be losing that dedicated games company by having Nintendo go software only.

Also, I wouldn't mind getting a few Nintendo titles on my PS4. But there's nothing MS has to offer PS4. If we're going to lose Sega as a multiplat developer it's better to trade for Nintendo's huge game IP library becoming multiplat vs. Microsoft's almost nothing to offer int he SW dept.

Though as a gaming companies I marginally prefer Nintendo over MS.

Of course I would.

Then Nintendo would have all the third party, and there would be a console with Nintendo hardware innovation, Nintendo games and third party games all in one.

I'd sacrifice Nintendo for things far less valuable than Sega, like a sandwhich or not having to shovel snow today...

How did Sony kill sega?

Entering the market at the exact wrong time for Sega, while they had become vurnerable.

Moneyhatting devs to keep games off Saturn.

Announcing PS2 right before Dreamcast launch to try and kill momentum.

Yeah, Sony was brilliant.

About the bolded, I am not sure though. I recall Sony saying they never paid developers to stay exclusive. Can you provide links for proof?

If by brilliant, you mean unfair and evil. I guess Microsoft had been brilliant this generation though ;)

I don't know, Sony is still in the game and in route to pass the Xbox while Sega was forced to become a third party developer. But Microsoft did great this generation, not to the extent Sony achived in previous generations though.

That is an example of a game kept from Sega by Sony by getting an exclusivity contract, if Wikipedia's info is accurate. What other games are there? Or was it that the lack of Tomb Raider killed Sega? That's some strong footing Sega had right there then.

I would kill off Nintendo, Microsoft, Apple and make sure Sega stays 3rd party so that Sony systems can rule the world.
