Forums - Nintendo Discussion - What could Nintendo realistically do to get you to buy one of their systems.

Well I wasn't planning on getting a 3DS, but they convinced my friends to get one when they announced Pokemon X and Y. Since we don't have the same consoles (PS3 vs. 360) we struck a deal. They get Vitas and I get a 3DS. That way we have two channels to play video games. I'm waiting for a deal. If I don't see a decent deal I'll wait till Black Friday. Hopefully I see something soon to take advantage of the free game with Luigi's Mansion.

Wii U - Price cut, more capacity, redesigned tablet controller with longer battery life and most of all games.

I don't need to have all of those together, but those are my complaints with the present SKU. I don't care for trophies since I'm way too busy with school, so its omission on the Wii U is not a deal breaker. Price is the biggest issue for me since I do NOT care for the tablet controller and I find the system very expensive given its capabilities. Plus I have to shell out extra for the pro controller. -___-

I'm the Smash Bros. champion in all 3 games where I come from so if Smash releases before any of the issues I highlighted are addressed I'd buy the system the day Smash launches. Gotta keep sharp. :D

Playstation = The Beast from the East

Sony + Nintendo = WIN! PS3 + PSV + PS4 + Wii U + 3DS

Not implement a used game freeze out if MS and Sony do. That would make me inclined to buy a Wii U. Other than that I see absolutely no reason to by a Wii U. And one of my sons already owns a 3DS and the other owns a DS.

Wii U: A fire emblem game and a couple other JRPGs. SMT series from Atlus would be a good place to start
3DS: It's pretty much impossible to convince me to get one. I just don't like handhelds.

They're actually doing a SMT Fire Emblem crossover for Wii U.

3DS is already looking very tempting for me this year with the amazing library it's been building up. I may buy one this year, possibly as soon as summer if there's a good deal or price cut. If I knew GBA and original DS games were coming to the eshop, that would probably seal the deal for me. Oh, and more interesting colors please!
In case Nintendo is reading this, had it been region unlocked I'd have bought one by now.

WiiU I feel quite confident will eventually be a very appealing platform, based on how Nintendo handled the 3DS during the last two years. Since I don't have as much time for gaming as I used to and don't own an HDTV it was always going to be a tougher sell for me. But I'd gladly jump on board if two things happened:

First, if the Wii U continued to embrace motion and pointer controls, pushing them further and building on what the Wii started. I'd like to see sequels (at least in spirit) to games like Zack & Wiki, Crystal Bearers, Sky Crawlers, Red Steel 2, Pandora's Tower, Little King's Story, Endless Ocean, Trauma Team, Fragile Dreams, Zangeki no Reginleiv, Disaster Day of Crisis and other solid efforts on Wii. Games that either featured smart application of motion controls but didn't live up to their full potential, or ones that didn't see the success they deserved and should be expanded upon and revisited.

The second thing I'd like to see is some truly innovative and deep use of the Wii U pad (possibly 2 pads at once) for compelling asymmetric co-op experiences. I'm talking about inviting over 3 or 4 other friends and together playing as pilot, gunners, bomber and navigator of a single B17 as we complete story missions together. Or manning a submarine or a space cruiser like the Millennium Falcon, also based on asymmetric multiplayer.
That's the kind of experience I imagine the Wii U was made for, and it's about time gamers had something like it.

Until you've played it, every game is a system seller!

As far as the consoles they have out now? I'm just gonna wait until they're cheaper. It'll be several years before I get a Wii U or a 3DS, if I ever do.

More generally? I want a non-goofy looking Gamecube--something that matches what MS and Sony put out in performance. I know they're traumatized by the actual Gamecube's shit numbers, though, so we'll never see another system like that again. It's a shame; stupid design aside, it was the last Nintendo console I really liked (although I never owned one).

I already have a 3Ds since last year, and i will eventually buy a Wii U.

What im waiting for? Games. I want to see more of them come out. There is a severe shortage, wich is common for consoles first year, but still... i want good reasons to get one. Otherwise im better off waiting for a price cut.

What they should do if they wanted me to buy it asap: Buy off SEGA. Get those IP's and develop new sequals. Give us the dream of an exclusive Nintendo and SEGA console on the Wii U. That would be a dream come true.

Find me a job. Not necessarily with Nintendo, just get me any job :P

Wii U - cut the price. Right now it's way too expensive for what it offers on the hardware front. I got my PS3 320 GB for 175 Euro. I won't pay 400 Euro for a console that's only slightly more powerful and doesn't even have a disc.

3DS - redesign it to include two sliders. I'd go for an XL version of such a console.

Well I got my PS3 CECH 3004B 320GB for 115€ euros Including the move pack. So I guess your PS3 is overpriced  then :)

The WiiU is not only slightly more powerful but I dont expect people to understand this when the only games available now are current gen ports. Plus the WiiU comes with a tablet controller you might have no interest in but its awesome and replaced my tablet.

I used an android tablet before that and other than wasting my time with crappy apps I watched movies online.   Now I use my WiiU gamepad to watch movies online periodically check facebook and even Miiverse and play games like  Trine2 or Michty Switch Force.

Btw If you would even care you would know that WiiU  basic  sells for like 200-220€  not 400€ but as said before you dont care.

People that demand harddrives  dont think  since the harddrives are always more expensive than ones you buy yourself.   What nintendo should have done is make the console have a harddrive bay  so people can upgrade without the need for an external harddrive and "ugly" USB cables to f*ck up some peoples "clean" living rooms.

I have enough harddrive so if my WiiU needs one I just plug one in  and its also no option for Nintendo to produce another harddrive model because that would increase the production costs. (special packaging  more commercial time etc....)

Not releasing a powerful system and not getting much 3rd party support, because I'll already have that with the PS4 or NextBox. The best thing Nintendo can do to get me to buy one of their systems is to be the best at being Nintendo. All I want is some great JRPGs like Xenoblade, fun party games, unique exclusives and another Mario game like SMG. Lowering their prices would help too, I would get a Wii U if it was more in the price region of it's predecessor.

stop all the Mii shit and start making games for adults, stop charging me a lot of money for outdated hardware. also they seem to think that a story doesnt have a place in video games, until they change that flawed perception they wont have me as a consumer
