Forums - Nintendo Discussion - RUMOR: Activision Upset at Black Ops II Wii U Sales, Says Nintendo Fans Are All Talk

20k would be 1% of the people that bought Mario on Wii U.

They are in the same genre.

COD is completely irrelevant to the potential of a 2D platformer on a Nintendo console.

Mario is Mario and it is first-party... Nintendo owners buys first-party games (A LOT).

Rayman Origins sold 420k on Wii with a userbase of 80 million... think about that.

PS. CoD is more relevant than any Rayman for Wii U.

Hyperbolic nonsense.

Why? Did you think Rayman would have sold more than 20k?

Edit - CoD sells less than 100k in Nintendo consoles :(

In contrast COD only sells on PS3 so much that all the series are the highest selling on that console. Sony fanboys are the same but instead they dont buy their exclusives they always list to people and claim they love. If you accept Ninty fand dont buy third party games by its numbers then im sure you can also accept Sony fans dont really care for exclusives. Numbers dont lie and there is a reason why Sony always bundle their exclusives early after its release.

Rayman Legends wouldn't have been in the same situation as Rayman Origins and you know it.

Regardless, late ports aside, 20k is obscure niche JRPG in America territory. It would be utterly ridiculous to expect a game like Rayman to perform worse than that.

I don't want to go offtopic here but PS3 exclusive sells...

GT - 10m
Uncharted - 7m
MGS - 6m
GoW - 5m
LBP - 3m
Killzone - 2m

Of course... not like Mario but they sell great... now show me how many third-party sells over 2 million in Wii? and Wii U?

I thought BO2 was getting a lot of shit right before/during the Wii U release because it was inferior. There were multiple comparison videos and screens showing this. Now all of a sudden it's not a gimped port?

Anyways, if I was Activision I would also be worried that I can't make games that appeal to the owners of the console.

It never was a gimped port to begin with, it was just a bunch of haters looking for anything to doom the console. I have the game and the only part i get drame dips thats noticible is during the campaign on the mission where youre running to get to the hellicopter. Its a bug cause it always slows down on that mission alone. The rest of the game is fine, the multiplayer does not get frame drops rarely lags and plays just as smooth on the screen of the controller.

Not really there are more levels with framerate problems. It dips frequently to something in the 30s.

Technically it's definitely an inferior version.

Here we go....do you own the game? NO! I own the game, played it myself and as i stated before the only part i get "noticible" framerate dips is the stage with the helicopter and it only slows down once. People are so quick to doom something they have no idea about. I like that youre using digital foundry as evidence. Same digital foundry that claimed Crysis 2 on PS3 was inferior to the Xbox360 version and it was practically the same game?

And that's what gets me.  I know sites like Digital Foundry have "facts" to back them up but it's not quite that simple.  I own BO2 for Wii U and my GF's nephew got it for Christmas on the Xbox.  We played them side by side and the Wii U version seemed to excell in all areas except online community.  Same goes for Batman AC.  I put both the 360 version and the Wii U version on my TV at the same time.  You could notice how much sharper and solid everything was on the Wii U by comparison.  Plus, it has a shitload of controller features--I LOVE the new aditions as well as the bonus content DLC.  It does stutter for a split second when new areas load (not all of the time but enough to notice when it's happening).  Almost every site says the Wii U has the worst version but I'm pretty sure that any real person would go with the Wii U version unless they just wanted Achievements/Trophies.

Digital Foundry is like letting a robot tell you what girl you should date based on hair color, height, income, etc.  There's more to it than that.  It's just that people will rarely play more than one version of the same game and won't make their own comparisons.  I bet that, during the 16-Bit era, Digital Foundry would have picked the SNES version of Mortal Kombat over the Genesis version, too.

Why the need to bundle them so early after release then? Most of them were obviously force fed to people when they bought the console for the first time. The only game that people care about in that listing is GT series. Also i noticed you didnt list the COD games among them to hide the fact that i was right. Thank you.

Thank you someone else that owns the game know what they are talking about. I dont own the 360 version so i cant benchmark both versions side by side.

Absolute mood point. You don't need to own the game when you can see the difference in the videos.
Everything you just said is just valid for your own eyes and doesn't matter one bit in the grand scheme of things.

The framerate dips are frequent and there were you can see it or not is irrelevant. Others can.

It's going to be interesting when Rayman eventually releases in September, because even though the Wii U userbase will be higher, there will be some who choose to buy the game on another platform, or even choose to not buy it at all out of protest to the decision. Thus, the logic you are using to say 20k FW now would be just as relevant in September with the first week on Wii U then.
