I'd also like to point out that the price point of the PS2 in 2003 was $199, so the drop to $149 was only 25% drop,  not 50%, as you say. Though a drop from $299 to $199 isn't half... it's 33%. Uh yeah... Welcome to high school math?

If you're going to tell someone to finish their education, don't you think you should use whole words and proper sentence structure to do it?

On topic, my mind is reeling that there can be so many people who seriously expect the PS3 to reach 100m in sales. This is a SALES website, isn't it?

Oh, sorry about the lateness of the post but typing on the Wii w/o a keyboard takes a while!  Hey crazzyman, I don't want ANY system to fail, I feel that DIVERSITY and COMPETITION help keep the market strong.  But I do have a problem with looking @ the facts and ignoring them.  Sony doesn't want the PS3 to be a gaming machine, they want to use it as a way to FORCE their propietary media on the consumer and to hell with the price!  I have a 60 Gig PS3 and it has only been taken out of its box twice, one to play resistance and the other to play Heavenly Sword. 

The PS3 has the potential to be a WONDEROUS gaming experience, but they have already started loing exclusivity, to 360 and Wii, ie. Devil 4 and Monster Hunter 3 (i didn't realize how bad for them that was until i lived in japan) again I don't want any company to fail, but look @ the actual facts and tell me that it has momentum!

It has a chance but I think it could.
