While stating that ps3 won`t reach 100 mln. based on what? On FIRST year sales? or x360 sales? WHY not on PSone and PS2 sales? WHY you ignore PSone and PS2 sales/games-sequels?
You don`t want PS3 to SUCCEED, right?


Because it is selling significantly slower than the PS2 did world wide. This site doesn't have hard data on the PS1 so I can't make that comparison, but I suspect it would be less than favorable. Let me sumarize in a way you can understand.

FACT: PS3 is selling much slower than the PS2 in almost every market.
FACT: PS3 versions of PS2 games have sold far less than expected.
FACT: No console has ever had a turn-around like the one you are predicting for the PS3.
FACT: PS3 has lost a lot of exclusives since launch to the other competing systems.

What FACTS???
then you give us list of games where most of them are games that no one have ever heard of.
Look at the games in bold.

FF13, MGS4 and GT5 don't help PS3 a bit, since all their fans have moved to Wii Fit. I got proof.
Wii Sports have outsold anything on PS2, as you can see, the transition from PS2 to Wii have already happenend.
Where is LOGIC?

Only the price holds Wii back, with Wii costing 50, all who have bought 360 and PS3 will dump them and get Wiis because IT'S THE EXPERIENCE FOR THE MONEY! From 50 to 299 it's a lot more than 250 to 400.
SMG have sold 5 million, so the GTA audience have already moved to Wii.
WHY it`s wrong to buy PS3 for HD experience and CHEAP wii for party games?

Your first arguement is, although possible, isn't likely. The PS3 just doesn't have enough momentum to sell 100 mil :(

On you list of "exclusives" you asked how many would also be on the Wii, but you fail to realize that most of them would also be on the 360 as well. Remember this is a 3 console + comp war.

Gran Turismo 4 - 1,16 mln. with 18 mln. PS2 on the launch.

Final Fantasy X - around 2 mln. with 5 mln. PS2 on the launch.
Final Fantasy X-2 - 2.4 mln. with 12 mln. PS2 on the launch.

 

1.8 mln. PS3 today(2008.01.17) in Japan. Now(2009.04.30) 3.16 mln. PS3 were sold in Japan.
PS3 will reach 4 mln. in Japan by the end of 2009 with average weekly sales 25k.

PS3 may reach 5 mln. in Japan by the end of 2009 with average weekly sales 50k.

There you go again abusing that word. Read carefully and then comprehend. Most markets is not all markets. Everywhere except for in the sum total of Europe it is selling less quickly. In most markets (as show by my 4 graphs) it is selling slower.

WHAT ps2 games sold better then PS3 versions with 9 mln. consoles on the market? Where is that FACT? Bring game sales then.

Prove your claim. Show me one shred of evidence the PS1 ever struggled world wide against competing consoles. Just using Japan does not count either. World wide sales is the topic of discussion.

To whom? To x360? PS3 Still have over 40 exclusive games in 2008. How many x360 has?


360 and Wii. It is losing exclusives to both systems.

If I'm correct the PS2 sold about 18-20 million in it's first year. The PS3 has barely managed to sell half that number in the same time so, No it will not reach 100 milllion. The PS3 lacks the PS2's momentum(which the Wii currently has) so it would take nothing short of a miracle to reach 100M. Even if Sony does stick to their 10 year plan, MS and Nintendo will roll out their new products in a few years which will become the new hot consoles and the PS3 will become old news as consumers will be expecting the PS4 as a retaliation(which is most likely to happen).
