Forums - Microsoft Discussion - VGLeaks RUMOR: Durango CPU Overview

Plus another reason for my "hunch" is the fact that MS has never in the past had there final dev kits ready so far in advance. I remember listening to the OXM podcast and they were talking about how there very first preview game for the 360 was still being played on a custom pc with a 360 controller plugged into it cause the final dev kits hadn't been sent out yet.
Like I said I could be wrong lol

While some things will stay the same about Durango, there have been likely some chances, Microsoft has never had a static roadmap in 12 months before product release, let alone 22 months.

I'm going to stick my neck out and say the specs that we got from vgleaks will not match what the final specs of the next Xbox will be. The main reason I think this is if anyone remembers the 58 page document that was leaked a long time ago that MS got there lawyers to pull from websites talked about the next Xbox specs. These don't really match up to them while everything els in the document seemed to(like illumaroom or what ever its called).
Good chance I'm wrong mind u but that's my hunch lol

That was from before MS rebid the console in 2011.

Source: S|A who was the first to say, a year ago,hat both consoles would be AMD CPU+GPU

Well those spec seem real, and i believe MS will also house 8gb GDDR5 of RAM..

Anyway the differences of the 2 consoles will be minor....now where that leaves WiiU?

Same CPU used in PS4.

The big difference to PS4 will be the memory and eSRAM.

And the fixed-function-units in Durango :)

There is more except the Data Moves engines? These exists to free up the CPU and GPU from the data moved into the memory... more like a alternative to together with eSRAM to avoid the DDR3 low bandwidth bottleneck.

Thread fixed.

Good job Ethomaz breaking the thread :P

We have yet to see what really is in Durango. Also according to vgleaks: "The Durango GPU includes a number of fixed-function accelerators. Move engines are one of them." The other ones are (by now) for image decompression and I doubt that if there will be fixed-function units that this is the only thing they'll do. Either way, they exist *and* are clearly a difference in the architecture.
