Trust me, I'm hardcore RPG as well but it took me a while to get used to Persona 1's style ;p

Its OLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLD school and nothing like Final Fantasy, Pokemon, or any other common RPG.

Persona 3 and 4's style is completely different from Persona 1 and 2. 1 being the worst - the PSX version for me was unplayable, thankfully the PSP remake was merciful.
