Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Star Fox for Wii.... a game with great potential

Star fox on the N64 brings back such memories for me. Its one of my all time favorite games just because of the way the game worked. The on screen text/ voice work was great, the sense of suspense in the levels. The kind of mystery surrounding Fox's father, especially after beating venom after the hard route. Personally, i think the best way to go for Star Fox Wii would be a single remote setup. The game would work great because the wii mote would be your aiming reticule, and the Arwing would align itself with how the wiimote is held. Barrel rolls would be a quick spin of the wrist, and would feel really responsive. All range mode would require you to add on the nunchuck. I think the Arwing is due for a Mark II model, which would be similar but sleeker. I also think the terrain should move faster, giving a greater sense of speed. Any suggestions? It might also be kinda cool to have some third person on foot levels....

I actually hate starfox more than most things, I hope it never sees the light of day on the wii

(something tells me I am going to be really popular on this thread)

I absolutely HATED Star Fox 64. But thee original game was, in my eyes, a masterpiece.

As long as the game is flights focused, and more "on rails," I will appreciate it.

I do not want foot missions, but a well done tank stage or two would be rather nice.

Instead of playing as Fox and his crew, play as his father ala the Star Wars movies and allow that story to develop.

I hope I made sense.

Star Fox has been kinda screwed up by Nintendo. They've got all their on foot action franchises like Mario, Zelda, Metroid, etc. And they've all got their quirks. Zelda is puzzle/ item collection/ sword based. Metroid is deep exploration/ projectile weaponry based. and then mario's got his mushrooms. Seeing how Star Fox Adventure kinda did screw over the franchise, I change my mind and take out the on foot idea. And Star Fox 64 was a masterpiece as well, the original Star Fox was just amazingly revolutionary in its own right.

the original and StarFox 64 were amazing games.

I'm still pissed StarFox 2 was canned.

This is the first time I've ever seen anyone claim that they "hated" Star Fox 64. Do you people kick foxes in the woods or something?

Tag - "No trolling on my watch!"

I though lylat wars was great when it came out. then all the crap starfox games came out (adventure/assult/command) and I recently played it again and it is just as bad as those.

P.S. lylat wars is starfox64 - in england there is another game series called star fox, so nintendo couldn't use the name while that series was still active until the late nineties. (sorry just thought I would mention that)

The original Starfox was a masterpiece. Everything else bearing the name since then has been almost completely uninteresting.

I love starfox, has it been announced yet? Watch the controls be basically the same as starfox 64 except you waggle the wiimote for barrel roll.

I've never been a big fan of the Star Fox franchise. Dunno why...Would love to see efforts put into a new 1st party RPG franchise.

I'm not a fanboy, I just try to tip the balance in favor of logic and common sense.
