Forums - Gaming Discussion - Why does some of the PS family on here always behave in this way, almost EVERY gen?

It's more like this:

Turkish: "PS RULES, all other consoles bow down to Kaz!"

Then it spirals out of control from there. The reason why I am saying this is because when I logged in on the 20th about an hour after the PS event had started (and thus around one hour before it ended), there were already a couple of Turkish threads up. One of them was about amazing first party games for the PS4 with no content beyond the headline. I didn't even know what games he was refering to, because he didn't name any and I hadn't checked any other thread on the event yet. Another one was about the RAM that fell into the same category.

There's a difference between hype and in-your-face bragging. The latter causes people of other camps to go on the opposition which then in turn is perceived as hating by the Sony fanbase (not by all of them, but a good portion). Retaliation leads to further retaliation until the mods get to work and begin to ban people left, right and center.

I didn't read all that many threads on that day, but if certain Sony fans already went overboard before the event was over, then it's clear that a big part of the blame for this week's mayhem has also to be placed on Sony fans, because actual haters usually wait until the end of an event before they go all out to bash something.

For the sake of the reasonable Sony fans around here, they might make an effort to keep Turkish under control a little bit more, because his actions are bound to be attributed to the fanbase as a whole.

Final note: I think the OP of this thread has already some items in his moderation history and if I am not mixing him up with somebody else, it's quite hypocritical of him to call others out for something he has practiced himself in his short time here (as in post count).

Who make more pro/cons threads: Turkish or Nsanity?

Hell i play more Sony games than most Sony fans on this site and they get mad at me all the time if I say anything Sony negative

to be fair, you like when "they" are mad, right?

"These forums will be hilarious if Next Xbox is more powerful than PS4"

I like all meltdown.  Its funny as well when forums explode regardless of which fanbase is in meltdown

To each their own and everyone on earth has bias of some kind.

You and I see different things due to looking at things with a somewhat different mindset.  I think Sony fans tend to be the most aggressive.  You dont.

Perhaps your right, maybe I am.  Regardless its all subjective and at the end of the day

I understand what you mean, but I'm going to deny having any bias when it comes to picking out aggressive and unreasonable comments. After the whole Vita / Wii U shitstorm I've been analysing comments in threads out of habit, counting how many comments from each camp I find unreasonable. I've stopped doing it recently, but from what I've found, no camp is any better than the other

I guess it also depends on what you define as aggressive. Would you say many of Turkish's posts are aggressive? I don't count hype and "Kazatars" as being aggressive, I just see it as excitement that can get a little bit annoying to fans of other consoles when people get carried away. I'm only bothered by comments or threads that have malicious intent (which can include many PS4 "hype" comments, depending on how they are worded).

Nothing grates me more than generalising and bitching about particular fanbases though, because that is personal, unlike attacking a console.

Still don't see why the PS fans are hyping the PS4 for what they showed was alright medioce.

Turkish can say some stuff but for the most part it is just positivity. That people can't seem to handle that doesn't put Sony fans at fault, if anything it destroys the credibility of those people. Just like in your example. Those two over the top threads Turkish made, one about games, the other about the RAM. Those are harmless, talking about the good thins about it. Anyone that takes it farther than that is subject to moderation. Thread makers and posters can't control a loose canon that might go off.

Anyway, it is the ones who can't handle the positivity around the PS4 that are the culprits. If anything should be done about the PS4 threads is reduction, it is almost like spamming. But VGChartz has never moderated threads to that degree.

If people are sick of PS4, stop reading the threads or make threads for their own prefered system.

I think it is all fine, even the threads that inquire about the next Xbox, its rumored specs, the future of XBL, and how all those things will pan out.

Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(

PS fan: Man this system is looking really powerful, the games are going to be so awesome.

Other fan: Shut up.

PS fan: But this system is powerful, more powerful than the other systems...

Other fan: Ugh, power does not matter, it's the games. Grow up.

PS fan: That's what I'm trying to say, the extra power can produce some great looking games.

Other fan: Graphics aren't everything, gameplay and style are way more important.

PS fan: I don't disagree but power can also help games develop new forms of gameplay and translate artistic style.

Other fan: You just want to look down on everybody else but nothing can beat these games on my system, you are just jealous.

PS fan: You know what! Fine! PS RULES, all other consoles bow down to Kaz!

At least that's how I picture it.

You mean like the Famitsu-Media Create threads every Wednesday? "Wow! Look at pacman go. Nintedomination. 3ds obliterating everything on its path. Now that's what I call dominance. Vita on life support. Nintendo owns Japan. Lolz, do they even know what vita means in Latin/Italian?" etc. Oh and let's not forget, "the top 5 3ds will outsell all the vita software combined".

Guess it doesn't seem like bragging when it's your favourite console.

Let's not be hypocritical here. It's the same from all camps.

Honestly this happens with everyone. But yeah, it's freaking annoying.

Like I said, his thread about first party games had no content. You also admit that he "can say some stuff", but then turn around to divert the blame away from him and Sony fans who behave similarly.

Like I also said, there's a difference between hype (positivity) and in-your-face bragging. There were some declarations that the PS4 will crush the competition and similar things due to what Sony showed at their event. I am also talking about posts within threads here, so making threads for one's prefered system is not a solution, because it might invite this kind of posts.

Does anyone remember lilbroex? Also one of those guys who took things too far, making a mountain out of every molehill.

I'm not diverting blame away from him or Sony fans, I'm diverting blame against anyone who wants to make a positive thread or talk about a subject that may attract spiteful people who will try to troll, derail, downplay, or hate.

If another console announced a new awesome game that melts faces I wouldn't be happy with anyone going into a thread about it to basically be a scrooge.

Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(

We are all just hyped thats all, we wouldn't show an arrogance towards to 720 if it was revealed and we wouldnt be so stink towards the WiiU if it wasn't so.....Uhh nevermind bout the WiiU.
