Forums - Gaming Discussion - Will MSFT hype up an announcement like Sony did with PS4

Simple question.  Will Microsoft hype up the NeXbox announcemnt with an announcement and advertising like Sony did with the PS4?  or will they just nnounce it out of no where and wait for E3?

They most certainly will. Their event may not last as long, but it'll certain be a big thing.

Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,

They should.

Their marketing penetration will make Sonys seem like one guy handing out flyers at a gas station......that's how much confidence I have in their ability to generate real buzz.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

They will for sure :)
I'm also predicting them to show us what the meeting will be about : the console!

Microsoft will send out a press release via passenger pigeon.

Of course they'll market the shit out of it. They're Microsoft.

If they can spend 1 billion in charity..................hype for an announcement is a no-brainer.

Yes, probably ... though it's been a long time since I've been impressed by a Xbox presentation.

If they're smart, they'll realize what Sony realized, that the people tuning into a stream for a console are mostly gamers. They seriously need to ditch the random actors and children and focus on core marketing. A long demo of Joyride 2 or Kinect Sports would be a big mistake. They should show Kinect 2 off somewhat, of course, but not enough to bore the audience or to display any flaws.

They should have plenty of demos from their own studios, however, so they should be fine for core content. I expect some to be reserved for E3, though, as with Sony. I'm not sure if 343i will be there or if they'll save their biggest gun for closer to launch.

Third party presentations will be the most interesting. I want to see who showed for Microsoft and not Sony, and vice versa.

I dunno what's taking them so long. There should've been an official announcement yesterday.

I'm betting they haven't finalized the console yet and don't know when they will. They will want to show their console as soon as possible though, and actually show it, but if they haven't finalized the internals, that could be a problem.
