Forums - Sony Discussion - Can anyone explain to me why people are obsessed with how the PS4 looks like?

Funny, I could say the same about you.

We aren't talking about me, we are talking about you. But at least I won't dismiss a source because of its domain name alone.

I don't dismiss the source simply because of it's domain name, I dismiss it because of what types of articles it has created in the past. They are good to read once in a while for a nice laugh, but nothing more nothing less. Nevertheless, you may continue to downplay the conference for as long as you desire. No harm done.

And you also may continue to justify how it went :)

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

Well well well, how kind of you good sir. Never have I met a man (or woman) on the internet as reasonable as you!

Because I don't want a ugly looking box sitting with my nice sleek looking home entertainment system. So It would be a plus if the system looks good.

how did it look like in the first place? I could only see that controller which was alright.

If this is a non issue, then its funny since I see a ton of Sony fans on damage control, insisting its not a big deal. Well clearly a lot more people seem to disagree.

I happen to agree with it. Seems many fans such as yourself take issue with that. And people will continue to think that regardless of how many fans do damage control.

The conference ended on a down note. To have something tangible shows that you have your act together, thats its not all buzz words and empty promises...sorry if you disagree but both arguments have merit.

I am not doing any damage control and I am not Sony fanboy. I bought my PS3 last holiday and had the Wii and 360 as my primary consoles from the very beginning. I don't care who makes a console, as long as I find it to have value and enjoyment.

But the reason why I make this point is because it makes absolutely no sense to me. I have built PCs and no matter how expensive a chasis I buy for it and how many LEDs I use to light it up, that for the most part doesn't make much of any difference (except for ventilation) on the actual performance of the games that I run on the rig. Its just eye candy. I fail to see what this hypothetical "oomph" that could have been brought from just a casing. Heck Sony could have just put an empty case on a table with the PS4 logo with no parts inside and no one would have known. I guess that would still make people happy.

Whatever. But just because majority has this opinion doesn't mean it is what should be followed. You can have your own.

You say it's not a big deal, but to this day I see or hear people say they didn't buy a Gamecube because it looked like a purple lunchbox...

VGChartz

because that is really the only negative thing that can be said about the confrence. That and SE

Square Enix were just painful to watch. Especially that last FF announcement, which should have been huge but turned out to be the most awkward moment of the conference.

true but the chances of it not being a sleek design are slim. If it isnt sleek I expect it to look like a PC tower
