Forums - Gaming Discussion - Overall, Sony Brought the Heat and Delivered

In all honesty, I'm biased. But, I really think Sony gave a glimpse into what a fusion of entertainment/gaming can truly look like if done right. I'm really excited for the PS4, more than I was about the PS3 at this point. I'm liking the sleek and simpler interface, although it seems everything is going that way...

I'm also really digging the 3rd party support that is going to come with the launch of the PS4 and at various stages of it's life span.

Also, how can we not be excited about the immersive graphics that were displayed in the Killzone demo? All of those were supposedly running in real time.

And that's just to name a few things, of which we will hear more about in the coming months.

The PS4 is going to deliver and it will be interesting to see what's in store for us come launch time.

Sony set the bar high with this conference. At this rate, Microsoft better have something really good chalked up. And I think they will, considering how much time they have to prepare now and seeing how they can respond.

What exactly makes you so excited?

I think this thing will be great. The games I seen look fun, I am ready for the future!

I edited my OP with a few things. Probably should have put those in there in the first place...

Need to see more Japanese games.

Games look pretty and the specs are great. However people need to understand that this doesn't stop studios from making poor games.

At the end of the day it is about quality and I could care less if the people in the game look life like.

I they they delivered really good today, but I see a blanding of the future. I am wondering exactly what Microsoft is going to deliver different. It looks like both consoles are going to become more twins than less this coming generation, with the WiiU again being the underpowered oddball. I am expecting both Microsoft and Sony to come out at the $500 price point, and possibly see really sluggish sales in this economy. Look for Sony to go the XBox Live route and charge for online play also, even if the features one up with Microsoft is doing. I seriously doubt Sony offers streaming play online for free.

Already has more games than the WiiU.

I like to think out loud sometimes but I rarely think out loud while writing it on videogame forums.

Overall glad you shared your feelings on the matter.

That was an incredibly fast 2 hours. It was a straight forward conference all the way through. This is PS4, here are the specs, here's how we're using Gaikai, here's Killzone, Watchdogs, Destiny, MM doing rockband with PSmove (my least favorite part), Infamous, that robot game (shown first I forget the name), a racing game, the indie game from Braid developer, new QD engine animation, and Capcom. Oh yeah and Square will show you that tech demo you already saw and say they're making a FF game (big surprise)
