When it comes out with at least FIVE games I'M interested in AND the games still cost 59.99, I MIGHT buy one down the line. If not, I will wait.. Usually I buy consoles when the total amount of games that I am interested amounts to how much the console costs at that point. If there's 5 games I'm interested and each game costs $60, then the console has to be no more than $300. If a console costs $400 and there's only 5 games at $60 each out that I'm interested in, then the console to me isn't worth buying until I see more games I'm interested or the price of the console goes down.

That's an interesting criteria, but a reasonable one.
Mine has traditionally been so long as there are at least 3 games I legitimately wanted to play that I would buy immediately at full retail price (not talking old games, reduced price, on sale, etc. etc. etc.) I consider a new platform worth the price of admission.
This applies strictly to new hardware platforms, as I have never been a late adopter for any console I've bought over the last ten plus years. Naturally, I factor in announced titles in evaluating the longer term worth of a platform, but I need three good ones right off the bat.
Why three? I cannot think of a single time ever in which I bought more than three full retail priced games at once. I can't play that many games in one month, or at least not unless at least one of those games was only to be played for a few hours or less. There's no point in paying $60 for a new release game if such were the case. So paying $300 for five games means two of them will probably stay in the shrink wrap for a month or so making a new release purchase completely pointless. If I just want to preview a game, before getting into it, that's what demos are for.
