A Sony doom thread is just like multivitamins. It has become a daily essential.

I've owned every Sony home console and never had one break on me (2 ps3s and 2 ps2s). Also I've bought every ND game since Crash Bandicoot other than Jak X (played, just never bought) and never been disappointed. Platinumed every Ratchet, GoW, Uncharted (not GA obviously), and Sly (well I WILL have platinumed 4 by next week probably) and over half my collection is exclusives like these which is why I know I'm getting PS4. Looking forward to seeing what awesome news is coming this afternoon.

I had a PlayStation 3 for 16 hours before returning it back in. Guess I didn't like it. :0

Unlike most people here Im not buying a new phone, but Ill tell you why im going to carry Sony's flag for the upcoming war ahead.

I think up till the PS2 I though the Playstation was its own company. Untill I discovered that it was Sony who made them. Then I discovered that they make of my favorite movies and music. And then I discovered that they were the masterminds behind the walkman.

After that discovery i valued to take up arms to crush the enemy.

You know what happens when new consoles come out?, so do new games?, you know who wins?

EVERYONE.

Well, I have a longer story to share. Some years ago we experimented at home with a media-player-PC under Linux. With DXR3Player we played DVDs. But Sony at the time experimented with different ways of special copyprotection, so a Screamers-DVD I bought (I love that movie) didn't play. Well, we looked into the problem, bu it wouldn't play from our original DVD. Later we found a solution, by copying the DVD on the harddisk. The DVD that wouldn't play from the original DVD (while every other worked well) was playable from harddisk (and nothing stopped us to copy it). Well, we thought, problem solved. we burned that back to a DVD-R and tried that - again unplayable. So Sony has invented a copyprotection that didn't stop copying in the least, but stopped us from watching the movie from the original DVD and from a DVD-copy - but allowed to watch the copy on harddisk.

So you became a Sony fan cause they allowed you to watch pirated movies O_0

I meet many Sony employees at work, they never tell me anything about PS4.

And most of them own iPhones...

What pirated movie? I didn't pirate anything, I never shared the copy I made. No, I'm probably Sonys best consumer: instead of complaining about a broken product and demand my money back, I let keep Sony my money and found a way to use the product myself. But others must have complained, because all my other DVDs - including the ones from Sony - worked well.
