From my friends, the excitement is just about the same level as Wii U excitement.

Sony better have Uncharted 4 or something at launch.

i have never seen this much hype over a pre SPECULATION announcement in my life. i dont even recall the wii or ps2 getting this type of exposure over WHAT WE THINK IT MIGHT BE. was the wii's first reveal/announcement at e3? e3 is already massively popular even without a new console announcemt/reveal in itself. but this is the month of feb, wich is usually a very dry month... this has gotten a stupid amount of attention over speculation that ive never een before over a console... i dont think 720 will be this crazy for a speculation reveal,alot of ppl are really down on the 720 after hearing the specs/always on-line/and no used games situation.. ms imo,is in for a bad generation because of these things(though,i dont think it will be as bad as the wiiU).

I remember N64 and the Xbox received their fairshare of media attention. It's a double edged sword, with the media usually follows a certain amount of great expectation.

i think a lot of ppl are not undestanding, were talking about hype over speculation, ive never seen speculation grab a hold of the internet by its balls and squeeze it and make it beg for mercy. nothing has came this close to hype over speculation before(again,were talking about something that we think is a pre announcement,grasp this ppl). and the wiiu is one of the least talked about/hyped systems of all time at all points/time/stages of its existence, ive only seen the nintendo fanbays get excited over it

Somehow ppl seem to recognize the trillons of Kaz-gifs and forum-comments and forum-fanboyism as media-attention...
