Price is fine by me. I'll probably buy it for X among others future things, so it's gonna be a fall-2014 purchase I think.

I highly doubt that they are going to drop the price of each sku by $100 this year, or anytime soon. That would destroy them financially. I think you might be able to get it for $250/$300 during the Fall, during all of the sales.

Add me! :)

i don't think nintendo can afford a price drop for at least 6-9 months.

...but some new bundles i think are quite possible. basic to include nintendo land. deluxe to include nintenoland and mario. something like that.

Like everyone else I'm waiting for next gen.

Still too expensive

200 in a Zelda Bundle(new Zelda)
This or they have to wait for my money till the NextGen is over.

Pretty much this. Also I think the bundling may be digital, like Nintendoland is included in the ZombiU-bundle in the US, as this costs Nintendo basically nothing.

You wait for PS5, next Nextbox and WiiU++? You will skip the whole current gen, although it started just recently?

@bolded: nope. Nintendo thought it would be good to adopt Sonys startegy and start the console loss-leading. They are in the same position as Sony with the Vita: they can't cut the price the first year as they already lose money on produced units. You can't expect a price cut fast. Maybe before the holidays, November or so. But no earlier.

The reason why the Vita can't take a price cut is because sony's financial state as a company which is bleeding heavily from sectors other then video games . Financially nintendo are not comparable to sony and have steady income from software and 3DS sales, they also probably have reserves deeper then we can imagine. They risk of loosing far more then what was at stake with the 3DS because the wii U could end up selling N64 numbers if all goes wrong. You have to to do what necessary to survice, hence why sony cut price on the ps3 even when they were already selling units at a loss 5x greater when what nintendo is seeing with the Wii U.

Financially Nintendo has a better standing, but there is no better way to burn away your cash-reserves than to take such a move. although it could be clever - as long as the competition isn't released yet it could secure Nintendo the headstart they were hoping on with the earlier release. But it would be a highly risky move: if it only brings potential future buyers to buying the device now Nintendo wins nothing but loses money on sales. If on the other hand they bring people to buying a WiiU INSTEAD of a PS4 or Nextbox, that would help Nintendo. But I wouldn't bet on that. Anyways, the pricecut without games is useless. So if a pricecut comes this year, it will be alongside games. Windwaker and Mario Kart maybe.

Yeah, I agree. They have nothing to push on the system if they cut the price now

The question is can they cut the price, the Wii-U has a very expensive controller.
