go with Mario land as it most likely is better than what Luigi's mansion will be

You have no idea how much I disagree with you on this point.

haha

I predict it will get lower review scores than Mario 3D land

Star fox is local play only.

Wait for Luigi's Mansion

Also get these games:

Kid Icarus: Uprising

Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed

Kingdom Hearts 3D

Resident Evil: Revelations (demo available)

Rhythm Thief and the Emperor's Treasure

Cave Story 3D (the retail one)

Tales of the Abyss 3D

Paper Mario: Sticker Star

Shinobi

Code of Princess

Fire Emblem: Awakening

Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask

And from eShop (digital games):

Dillon's Rolling Western

Pushmo

Gunman Clive

Ketzal's Corridors

Sakura Samurai: Art of the Sword

Mutant Mudds (Demo available)

Speed X 3D

Crimson Shroud

Liberation Maiden

Denpa Men: They came by Waves (Demo available)

Colors! 3D (it's an art app, but it has a Online gallery that you can download a copy of other peoples posted 3D Art)

There are also a lot of free Demos to download.

Also buy surround sound headphones, the 3DS does 6 speaker sound via the earphone jack, and the Speakerphones do Virtual Surround Sound.

My headphones are "Plantronics Gamecom 777" it's 7.1 Surround Sound headphones and they cost $30 to $80 depending on where on the web you buy it from, New.

Even if it does, I already know I will enjoy Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon more than I enjoyed Super Mario 3D Land.

I'll suggest some of the more obscure awesome 3DS games:

Shinobi
Rhythm Thief

Code of Princess

Liberation Maiden (download only)

Cave Story 3D

Tales of the Abyss

Mutant Mudds (download only)

Dead or Alive Dimensions

I would also recommend Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed over Mario Kart, but I've heard the 3DS version is weaker then the other versions so I can't yet.

Also, while they aren't exactly obscure, Kid Icarus, Fire Emblem Awakening and Mario 3D Land are AWESOME.

Fire Emblem, Kid Icarus, Resident Evil: Revelations, and Pushmo are all must haves. Get those first to start your library, they are easily the best games.

Then you can pick up some cool titles in the E-Shop, and look forward to a great looking 2013.

Liberation Maiden is a fun short game, recommendable...

Resident evil Mercenaries should be dirty cheap now, online and unlockables are excellent

The other versions of Sonic Racing Transformed have 30 fps max, but the 3DS version has 48 to 60 fps most of the time.

And the 3DS version has the best AI out of all consoles too.

I made a thread of my review of the game.

It just got release recently (the 3DS version), plus it's the only version made from the ground up for its Console.

What game should i buy?

Star fox *is the online good?

Mario 3d land *Should i wait for Luigi Mansion instead?

I love Star fox 64, one of my favorite childhood memoires in gaming. But i love Mario games =//////.

Starfox doesn't have any online and it's "wireless download play" multiplayer mode is terrible. If you like the original as it was, and want to play those game modes again, then you may  get the game.

Mario 3D Land is not as simple and accessible as the New Mario games. My kids (age 4) are able to play NSMB-2 (some levels), but they can't Mario 3D Land yet. I think it is an interesting hybrid between the New Mario 2D games and the full 3D environment Mario games like Super Mario 64.

I think New Super Mario Bros 2 is better for quick on-the-go play sessions.

...

The best game on 3DS to date IMHO is Fire Emblem - Awakening. There is nothing else on the system that is such a perfect fit for the dual-screen, touch, and controls. It's perfect on the 3DS and it is really refined, challenging, and rewarding gameplay. Plus awesome character, story, music, and visual flair.
