Lol, sorry but I truly don't like the taste of most alcoholic drinks. I rather drink water personally.

then why is there even alcohol in these in the first place ? if it doesn't taste of alc, then I don't see a reason for it to be in there - personal opinion |
Hint: for its biochemical effects. ;)
Drink or don't drink, whatever -- it's a personal choice!
What annoys the shit out of me is when when members of either group act like their choice makes em better people than the others.
I'm looking at you non-drinkers who think that that choice makes them superior and better people than those who enjoy a drink! I've met a lot of you!
Don't get me wrong, there are a lot in the other camp as well, but for me it's the self-righteousness that's more annoying.

You have tried all beers?
“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”
- George Orwell, ‘1984’
Look..... nobody likes the taste of alchohol, you can't taste those notes of citrus/berries/toffee/whatever in your whiskey, that's just bullshit.
Also, you dont drink bc you just like the taste, you drink to get drunk, hopefully in the company of others or bc yo have to.

You don't drink something you don't like the taste of, correct? |
Have you tasted the many, many different varities of alcoholic drinks? Or just making a vast generalisation based on ignorance? (FYI ignorance means lack of knowledge - it's not an insult). I don't like coffee, but if someone was to offer me a type I'd never had before, I would have to give it a try or I'd be just the same as a kid not wanting to taste other vegetables because he doesn't like sprouts.

You completely ignored my first post. I'm guessing your conclusion is also based on ignorance?

Who's saying they wouldn't try something they were offered? My point is that if you don't have a general like or passion for something in the first place, why would you actively seek out a single variety that you might possibly like?
I personally dislike the underlying "alcohol" taste in most drinks. I also dislike the effect they have on me. The general buzz you feel from drinking makes me uneasy. If someone offered me something new that I haven't had I would take a sip, I'm not some elitist trying to prove a point.
So much anger over people not liking alcohol.
All alcoholic beverages contain ethanol, whether it be 4% or 50% I can still bloody taste it and I don't like it. Get over it.
I honestly do not see the obsession with alcoholic beverages, specially beer. I drink beer, wine or shots of different stuff, but never more than once or twice. It doesn't taste that great, it's not very refreshing and it can be expensive as fuck.
I like to think I drink socially only. I'll drink at a party or family reunion or the sorts. I'll drink when i'm out at a restaurant and the likes. I will also drink at home but I have yet to buy beer to bring home since i became 21 back in May 2012. It's pissing money away to fuck up my liver (i believe that's the right organ it fucks up) just like smoking cigarettes (lungs). If there so happens to be some beer at home, i'll drink one but it is very rare to see beer at my house. I'm never getting drunk, it probably feels like shit and it shows how little respect you have for your body.

"I don't like the taste of alcohol"
"I have yet to find an alcoholic drink I like"
Very different. I'm not saying "actively seek out something to drink" but just "don't write off all alcoholic drinks because you've had a few bad ones". However it is good to see that you are open minded to new drinks rather than blindly writing them all off.
Why does the buzz from drinking make you uneasy...? I'm not an elitist trying to make a point. I'm saying that making sweeping generalisations based on a few drinks is incredibly ignorant and bordering on juvenile (refer back to sprouts example).
