Forums - General Discussion - Is this what the World thinks a majority of Americans are like?

Haha! No, but we are aware that TV companies enjoy making entertainment out of the strangest folks around. I know quite a few people from the US but none of them are like that at all.

I do think that American TV has hit an all time low though, there is a crazy amount of shitty shows emerging now, especially in the "reality" department.

Gutter trash is more entertaining than watching the average person.  Unfortunately, you turn to trash after watching too much trash after awhile.  You are what you consume.

Without watching the videos and just looking at the girl on the picture and the television stat, I'm going to say......yes.

...it isn't what all Americans are like? First I've heard of this.

Guess it's time to get back to drinking some tea whilst watching some Cricket and wearing a suit, because that's what all Englishman are like.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

Oh God. I think i'm gonna be sick...

And this is why we have some stupid shows - need to fill slots with content for a populace that watches entirely too much television.

What the actual fuck. Over 8 hours on average??

I call bullshit.

murrica, Fuck Yeah!

Ok, I only watched the first video... why do I find it so hard to understand what she's saying? I can't understand half of what she says and I usually understand almost everything when I watch a video in english... but it's like she talks too fast or something O_o

And that woman is extremelly fat, she should go to the doctor or something or that's going to bring her a lot of problems as she grows older. The way she checks if the spaghetti is ready is kind of silly...

I don't think all US citizens are like that... but I wouldn't know because I've never been there xD

*shrugs* deal with it USA

the usual images people have of Germany are:

My image of Germans is that of a well educated and polite person that usually plans things well ahead of their time before making a decision or doing something. I also have the image of them being cold... but I don't know why I have that image because I've never been there or met any Germans in real life so I'm probably totally wrong :P

That dance never crosses my mind when someone mentions Germany but the Hitler stuff does if Germany's mentioned in documentals about war on TV... but it's far from being the first thing I think about.

A banner stolen from some site xD

Release Final Fantasy Versus XIII nowwwwwwwwww!!! lol :P

Germans sure do know how to have fun and throw a parade.  Love the first video with them kicking each other in the ass.

I personally like this Panzerlied song.

I'd definitely march to my death with that song.

8+ hours is BS.

Lets say a person gets up at 6:30, watches tv for an hour then goes to work. They get home then at roughly 5:30. They would have to then watch tv till 12:30 am straight for it to reach 8 hours. Looking at it it shows like over 8 as well slightly.

You would have to be unemployed to average 8+ hours a day.

Maybe the chart is counting household use instead of how long each individual person spends in front of a TV. That's the only way the statistic makes any sense at all.
