The new RPG that Ken Rolson, lead designer of The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion and The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind, is working on at Big Huge Games must have made one hell of an impression on THQ because they liked what they saw so much that they bought the developer.  This is especially interesting considering that THQ was just in the news for closing one of it's studios and cancelling several games that were in development.  The game is scheduled to come out for the PC/360/PS3 sometime in 2009.

Let us hope this new thing isn't like the smattering of crap that is the Elder Scrolls series.

well, they've discontinued Juiced and Stuntman... no wonder they'll try something different... it's also Brian Reynolds company (Civ2 and Alpha Centauri designer)

 elder scrolls 3 did suck on the xbox but 4 was just awesome if you ever played it. I never played 1 and 2 tho.

Woah woah woah, Morrowind was easily one of the best rpgs on the xblock.  The open world was amazing for its time.  But OT thats good news for THQ finally being able to produce something that isn't wrestling based.

What he said.  I despise the Elder Scrolls games.  I keep buying them hoping the next one won't be as ridiculously tedious and boring as the last... it always is.
