Forums - Sales Discussion - Ni no Kuni already tops half million units sold (will it reach 2 millions ?)

with europe debut sales 96,000 copies debut week sales and america second week 40,000 total sales goes to 510,000 k sols ww

i believe that it can reach 2 million copies due to good word of mouth and great reviews  as you can see it has 9,1 userscore at metacritic

what do you think ?

seems a bit enthustiastic to me...

unknown IP and JRPG influence decrease versus good ratings and word of mouth..

i would propably say 1.5 mil

Seems doubtful, but I just noticed Valkyria Chronicles opened with 20k in the US and 5k in Europe and that game hit 1.1million, so you never know.

i think that time passing will be kind to Ninokuni but not to reach 2 mil. my predition is about 1.2 mil

I just hope it sells well enough that it gets a second printing, or at least doesn't fall into "this costs more used then new" Atlus territory.

Cause I want to play it. Just don't have the time with what i'm already paying. Not paying full price for a backlog.

I can't see why around 2 million is out of the question. The question for me is how long is it likely to take to get there? We don't know if  there will be any new bundles in the future, or how a price reduction would effect sales and we don't know if it will get any more DLC in the future that would lead to a 'special edition' later on, whether it will get a price reduction on PS+. There are lots of ways for Level-5 to help momentum later on. They could actually try advertising it too!

I think it can get up to somewhere in between 1.5mil and 2mil+

CPU: Ryzen 7950X
GPU: MSI 4090 SUPRIM X 24G
Motherboard: MSI MEG X670E GODLIKE
RAM: CORSAIR DOMINATOR PLATINUM 32GB DDR5
SSD: Kingston FURY Renegade 4TB
Gaming Console: PLAYSTATION 5

i just hope it get's to 1 million

Zero chance. Over 1m will be an achievement.

Not an achievement as its destined to cross the million mark.

Funny, most people here said it would struggle to reach these numbers in lifetime sales.

This game is like Demon's Souls, publisher underestimates the demand. NNK will grow over time through word of mouth.
