For the games!!!! I'm sorry I buy games because they're fun not because of the system's power.

I think the question is why wouldn't I buy a PS4 considering the age of the PS3 / X360. Its time for a new console and I will be there on day one.
It's almost 7 years since the PS3's been released. Is this really a legitimate question?
OMG i hate these threads cause they ask a question with the obvious answer being either it's the console of choice, or the games and knowing they will continue to create new ip.
I didn't buy PS1, 2 or 3 for 'optical media', although I did use my PS2 as a DVD player (it was a nice bonus).
I didn't use my PS1 as a CD player, and I haven't used my PS3 as a blu-ray player (so far).
Why did anyone buy an Xbox ever? If the only reason to buy a PS console was CD/DVD/Blu-Ray then there was never any reason to buy Xbox or Xbox 360 given MS never introduced any of these technologies into consoles.
And obviously as Nitendo never introduced these things either there was no reason to buy a Wii, and no reason to buy a Wii U either.
So basically if there's no new disc medium aspect to a console there's no reason to buy a console. Thus next gen no one will buy any consoles because there's nothing new in this respect. Thus all consoles are doomed!!!
